I'm interested how many SnG's will be run each night - and if you can enter more than one of them? If you can, I can see players not stamping up, playing very LAGin the ME for the evening, then just playing SnGs. No money for the venue there. If you can't enter more than one, but multiple SnGs are run, I can still see a group of people, and I think numbers would grow, heading there just to try and win a ticket on the SnG table - $15 for two shots at the prize, no money to the venue.

Just for the record, I always fully support my venues, I just think there is going to be some unintended, and novel consequences from this setup.

Interesting.

Hi rcon. If that was indeed what was occurring then we would have to seriously consider the structure with the SNG's. We do not want to see support directed away from the venues.

In the meantime it all seems to be running without detriment to the venues.

Fine, I'll get a "transferred" ticket when I can then.

Hey im slightly confused over transferring tickets i was told by a senior NPL staff member we can transfer any tickets we win including the 1st one just by asking any CBI staff member to do it for us.

OK im not against the concept of $50 being removed from the prize pool for a ticket to a bigger tourney.

But lets say a venue only has 25 runners - 20% of the prizepool being removed for a ticket makes any spot other than first not worth it. This is a concern for most players i think.
Riskers gamble, experts calculate.

Excellent - can you tell me how many SnG's I can enter if I get knocked out?

do I have to be in the 1st 10 people knocked out?

thanks

How many can you get organized? That's a serious question.

They aren't like bad beats, they can take between 40-60 mins to play. Plus you need at least 5 to play. 5 players willing to pay to play for a ticket.. We had 51 runners on wednesday at the emu and had 2 SNGs, 6 in the first, 7 in the second. The 2nd finished after the final table.

SNGs won't start until after 1st break (need a table afterall).

Just how quick are you expecting to be knocked out of these SNGs to play multiple ones per night?

Maybe he was thinking ahead and wondering out loud how long it would be before the players start treating the SNG like a bad beat :P

I'm fairly sure that would get a few more SNG's happening on the night.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Just to show the other side here. How many free rolls have prizes that are "worth it" for places other than 1st? Not having a go in any way, shape or form. I just think some players have unreasonable expectations of the prizes due to the "Cash Buy-in" pre-fix to the tournament.

Every game I've run so far I've had at least 1 player, once the prize pool is announced, say "I thought it would be more than that."

Once you sit down and explain the breakdown to them it make much more sense to those not used to the format, but until then we'll see a few comments along this line of thinking.

I would hope that the SNGs being played like a bad beat wouldn't happen. 2000 start stack, 10 min blinds. Prizes at the end. Should weed out most bananas who play shove, shove, shove poker. That said, if they have money to burn, I'm sure some serious player would be happy to take their donation towards a ticket. :D

Not that you have any hope Pete. You and your K10 offsuit. 8-)
