got 3rd tonight at the bombay, only venue this season i played out besides my win at the highlander, i should of won tonight, i went all in with an open ended striaght draw for like 18k and someone called me with Ace high which held up, it was a donkey call

came second overall at the bombay

perhapes the biggest hard luck story of the season coming from swish. given the relatively small fields the finals situation had more of less been sorted out, with a couple of spots technically still up for grabs.

with 10 players left on wednesday night, 5th palce Damian was knocked out, leaving just one player who could beat him out for the last finals spot, but only if they won. said player, Martin, stated with an average stack, but drew the ace to start on the button. in the first hand he moves all in over the top of two raises by the two big stacks and after his pocket aces fell behind on the flop, made runner, runner full house to tripple up. with players falling down around him, Martin built a massive stack and took down the win to snatch the 5th and final seat for the state finals... by 0.1 of a point.

We thought Damo had another chance at scraping into the finals, given that there was a new guy there who made it into the points but didn't write his name down, which would have allowed Damo to get some much needed points, but because James knows the name of the guy and where he placed he's obligated to record this guy's placing.

I'm not happy about that.

I always love the last week of the season. Qualification up for grabs, leaderboards been finalised and a plethora of people unhappy. Which in turn results in myself been inundated with emails, phone calls, text messages.

Hey, I can't exactly complain - I'm venue leader at Swish, so I'm in! I just felt i should show some solidarity and support for Damo - he's my partner after all, it would be wrong of me not to have a little whinge about it So not having a go either, Garth
