sorry, but talking about yourself in the third person makes you look like a fool, and gives all your arguments an egocentric bent to them. maybe if you wrote on here as your proper name, more people would take you seriously.
sometimes, and i mean sometimes, you have a valid point. but your method of delivering this point is way off the mark, and just makes people get their backs up straight away. most other times, you just ramble on about nothing. on one hand, you say that you love NPL, while a single sentence later, you say that everything is wrong with it. if there is so much to change, why are you even playing?
maybe change your name, or at least stop referring to yourself in the third person, and think about your comments a bit more before you post them.

I think we can keep away from the personal stuff guys.
Keep on topic please (self included).

I don't wish to upset anyone- just make them think a bit as bennymacca has done with the way he interprets my writing style. BigPete constructive criticism is good- that's one of the points I try to make. From now on it's first person. Thanks bm.

Re: BERRI- CYNIC WITH THE EMPHASIS ON SIN
Paul,
Let me ask you this question; What is the value of X?
Can you answer?
You cannot answer because is undetermined. You want the NPL to put a dollar value on the costs involved for the this event, why do we need to put a value on it? Why don't you?
Work out what you would like to or are capable of spending then work out if you would like to play.
X is what ever you willing willing to pay for accommodation.
X is what ever you are willing to spend at any venue.
X is the staff we require for this event.
X is what the venue wants out this.
The reason all these indicators are flagged as X is due to the fact that running the first event of this nature comes with a learning curve. If we were to run such an event again, the system of doing so would be far more precise.
There were one of two Xs that were able to be stated,
X = 300, the amount of players we initially we thought would work. that number has returned to X due to the support
X = the amount of available rooms at the Berri, So X=0
Being that X=0 in this case we have opened up other opportunities at over locations to cater for the over load of support.
The only conditition thus far was that players that had a room would get prefernce.
You seem to think you are the elected mayor of NPL town, who are these people you speak for and when did they elect you?
Around 80% of what you post is not constructive. The things that are like your suggested golf game etc, well that is great but the NPL are not coming up there to run a carnival. We are going up there because the great Berri Resort wanted to give something to our members.
You don't really ask the tough questions, you ask the easy ones that usually have tough answers. The answers you seek are dependent on our members feedback. Can't you understand that the NPL have two types of customers, You the player and the venues you play in. It is a tough line to walk and we do all that we can and always in the interest of our customers both venues and players.
Regards
Nathan Butler

Re: BERRI- CYNIC WITH THE EMPHASIS ON SIN
All this leads me to ask the following questions.
There is maybe a minority of people that are being negative in regards to this Deep Stack Tournament and unfortunately their opinions are somewhat louder than those that are being positive.
So my questions are:
As things now stand, how has this rubbish thread impacted on the Deep Stack Tournament in Berri?
What are now the cut off numbers?

Re: BERRI- CYNIC WITH THE EMPHASIS ON SIN
Thanks Nathan and Nevah play JJ
I have received personal mail over this issue- not very nice mail.
Due to the exiting response from the punters I would like to suggest part of my previous thread.
What is the max number of players the venue can support?
If 500, then 400 from town and 100 locals
If 400, then 300 from town and 100 locals
If 300, then 225 from town and 75 locals
Can NPL supply enough chips, tables, chairs, staff and likewise the venue?
This event is still a LONG WAY OFF and so many people that have spoken to me won't know what work, study, family committments they have until much closer to the date and these people really do want to go, but to book and pay so far in advance is a genuine concern.
What is the cancellation/ refund policy in the event of a worse case situation popping up?
If the promotion is oversubscribed can we have a Reserves List?
Can Garth get back to me when he has the information please?
Is it possible to run a series of mini- turbo satellites for players knocked out early with prizes like food & drink vouchers and the winners get a two day accom prize for later in the year. Support the venue that supports the players by going back and spending later- sustainabilty.
Thanks
PS If I can help in anyway with organising, setups, registrations, clean ups please let me know.

Personal Mail?
Why aren't these people on here?
Why aren't these people contacting Garth?
Cougar/Paul,
You are not the NPL. I am not the NPL. If these "people" have an issue I suggest they discuss it with the people who are actually involved, instead of listening your constant negativity.
Is there anything you do actually like?
Kinda reminds me of a story.. little red riding hood. First porridge was too hot, 2nd porridge was too cold. 3rd porridge was just right.
But if it was little red riding cougar the 3rd porridge would have a spoon thats too big, or a bowl thats too small, or no sugar on top.
Everything you have a problem with. It's shame you aren't coming to Berri.

Re: BERRI- CYNIC WITH THE EMPHASIS ON SIN
Garth/NPL heads: Is there any seats left? A number of my friends keep telling me they're not going because its all booked out. I myself have reservations on whether to book a seat somewhere else or not (are we still guaranteed first preference if we book at the golf club, or somewhere else?).
If I had confirmation I/my mates would be booking tomorrow.

I think the hotel is booked out, however they are redirecting accom to the golf club.
I'm pretty sure theres still seats to the tournament, but you better confirm with Garth first.
