As for NPL, my goal is simply to make the regional finals. Hardly taxing I guess, but it's a start. I'm doing reasonably well at the venue overall, unfortunately any results I get seem to be spread over Thursdays and Fridays, which means overall I'm doing ok, but for each specific day I'm nowhere really.

I'm not brilliant at the turbo format, really. It seems to be more a matter of luck than skill, although I appreciate the good players will consistently rank. I prefer deepstacks where you can afford to make a play, and if it doesnt work, you can pick yourself up and try again. It it fails in NPL, it's effectively game over.

good call --Fino.

mine---At start of season .. do or place well at Angaston venue my boggie venue for points and point at Kingy , Gawler .do well in Regional Leader Board and make SF for fifth time.

mid Season --- finish Venue Leader at all three of my regular venues [ omg ].

current progress ... 2nd @ Nuriootpa by 3pts. no wins. placed 2nd and won chipset the night Skycity ticket was won by Nigel.
Venue Leader at Tanunda by 4pts. and slipped to 6th at Angaston [ my bogie venue ] need ten points to take no3, and have pointed at Kingy once ....

so about/ above average season so far and hope to hold in the top five at all my regular venues

... may the the cards I play hit/hold ;)

Win another tounrament, and get my average to one win every season. (currently 4 wins/56 games)
Make the recombine at this seasons state finals.
Cash at the deepstack.

Currently sitting third at my venue, first is a fair way off and ill need some good results to do it, but im still a chance.

Haven't won a tournament yet, was saving my win for the sky city seats

I made the recombine, and managed to cash into 17th at the state finals, better than i ever expected

Lasted about 5 hours in the deep stack, which im pretty happy with, but i made a few key mistakes that could have seen me go further.

All in all, ive ticked most of my goals except win a tourney. 3 weeks left i guess :)

I have achieved goal #1 and won my 1st tourney, unfortunately 1 night before Skycity sattelite seats were up for grabs. :D

I am relying on other players' placings to make state finals again as I was running 7th at Willaston when it was prematurely shut down on Sundays. :(
So that's 50/50 at the moment.

Next goals are to get my average back up to where it was 2 seasons ago despite laying less, and to win another tourney.

I wouldn't call that choking, Todd. If you've been hanging around the bottom 5 all season its hard to cement your place for States. Choking, to me, would be sitting 1st or 2nd with 3 weeks to go and dropping out. Even then, there's still so many factors out of your control ie: how tight the leaderboard is, if you can turn up to the last few games, how you go... etc.

I'm confident you'll make it this season though, Todd. You're playing well and here's hoping you can pull in at Fridays. Good luck man.
