I do have to agree as someone whos played and listened to the pub circuit for the last 3 years, arrogance is quite a defining factor of the 888PL, but then i guess market share makes it very hard to remain humble, doesnt it?

So as a result, we now have 888 wanting to regain some self respect by throwing down the challenge to put APL back in its place... Would the challenge have existed if wanderers came second? I think not. So lets not pretend that this is about putting up money, this is about pride... and quite simply, bragging rights. While it would be nice to think that this idea is all in the name of promoting "poker", we know that it is simply about 888 wanting to show its the best and being able to tell its players that their opinion was right all along...

Arrogance is a two way street it seems. BTW I have never denied that I am arrogant, in fact I state it as one of my flaws (or strengths) on this forum several times.

And I have already stated that this proposal would not have been tabled if the Wanderers did not win the Teams Event, and I have already stated the business reasoning behind it.

I think out of your whole post you seem to speak for a lot of 888PL players in very general terms; I think discussing any leagues in such a manner is a mistake. But you are right in stating that good 888PL players are very arrogant, truth be told if you're a competitive poker player and you're not arrogant or don't think you're better than your opposition then quite simply - you're doing it wrong!

Look forward to discussing the details with Chris at a later date.

BTW Nationally APL host approx 900 events per week, 888PL host just over 300 events. But our market share will grow substantially over the nest 12 months. In saying the above I just highlight how APL can host 4x300K events per year (1.2million in prizes) and yet for a third of the market share 888PL will be hosting two 200K events and a further 2 (100K) event next year. Bang for your buck analysis I guess.

You're a good player Edith! Winning the last high rollers event and bubble for State Semi's... And always around the mark on the state leader board. You are also a loyal 888 player and they should be proud to have you on board.
