Definitely a bit harsh Hausler. I thik that's just the kind of thig Ash is referring to. He said he likes a bit of banter & table talk. I agree that some players take things a bit far. They aren't the poker experts they might think they are just because they've made a few final tables. Some players try to create a tough table image, but just end up making themselves look like a tool.

Just mention it to your TD during a break, or before/after an event. We may have already had complaints about the player in question and we might able to offer a warning, or have a quiet little chat with them, to hopefully help them tone it down a little.

Or, just wait for the right moment, take their chips & send them on their way.

Cheers,

mp

:-) I agree, sure you shouldnt degrade any player no matter how bad they are, but sometimes it is so frustrating playing against players who make stupid calls or play with hands u wouldnt even limp in 50 with!!
Like come on. we are into the 3rd season now, surely u should have some idea of how to play by now!!
You are trying to better yourself at the game and then u get crushed by some donkey that thinks their 8 3 off is good and sucks out a straight.
Enough to make you quit the game!!

I've been known to talk a bit of trash at the table.
For example asking things like "Have you got the ace or pockets or whatever."
Or if someone has been playing very tight and passively and then after folding the last 10 hands they lay down a bet thats 3x the big blind pre-flop then I'll say something like "Well if he/she is in I'm sittin' this one out". But I am never agressive or rude towards anyone.
I think talking a bit of trash here and there is what poker is all about...
Using players tilts to your advantage can mean the difference between final table and bad beat...

thats not trash talk, thats just friendly banter. just dont make it into table talk though. there is nothing worse than putting in a massive bluff raise, and everyone on the table going "you have to call, pot odds etc etc"

trash talk is where some tool gets pissed because u called his raise when he thinks you should have and mouths off at you.

I HATE that. Steven kept doing it tonight, when I was all in.

"He's bluffing!"
"Do it he has crap! Pot odds you gotta!"

Hi there AK. I gotta agree with you on what happened to you. I hate it when you or anyone may or may not have a hand and went allin or made a scary bet. And the ones sitting out of the game are table talking.

I try to be diplomatic................yes it is possible for me LOL and just ask them to keep their opinions to themselves as they are not in the play of the game.

I really hate it when the one your betting against shows his hand to either a player not in the hand or is a bystander and they then encourage them to call or go allin.

I'm sure there's a ruling on this!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I'd like to just take the pot as they have disclosed their hand to another player.

Would that be the correct move??????????

I think you'll find this is actually against the rules.

it is most definitely against the rules, but this doesnt stop people from doing it. a certain player, who shall only be known as LH, table talks constantly, to the point where he just wont be quiet.

i have reminded him a few times that this is table talk, and he should stop it, but he just replies "so what, everyone table talks".

sometimes u just cant win. i think if he does it again, i will be having words to the TD.
