The stamping policy of the kingsford has nearly killed your entire region.

Yes only 3 stamps for a meal is a bit on the steep side, but nobody in Gawler now thinks that $20-$30 is a realistic spend for a night of poker, when in reality, it is what is required for (especially small) venues to break even/ turn a profit.

I completely agree that people up here expect a free(ish) ride when it comes to a night of poker. And this can be attributed to the Kingsford's policy. But I think there are still, as demonstrated by the consistent numbers recently at the Vine, enough people that can give support to more venues in the heart of the Barossa.

Yeah i agree with that also. Clearly a core group of 25-30 players was there, and without knowing the financial specifics, lots of other venues can keep going with numbers in that range and sometimes even lower.

MattyMoo wrote:Yes I think my most memorable moments there would be going back to back to back there last season and also the weekly struggle to watch Bruce, Maz and Ben C trying to out fold each other to the final table... Those stamp card draws were so vital at the Vine!

The stamp policy this season was fine. A meal and a drink and we were done.

that was the problem matty, it was the tards that turned up every few weeks that demanded they get stamped for their coke and then get abusive that screwed it for everyone apparently. i saw this happen a few times, but i never really thought anything of it other than i felt sorry for the bar staff for towing the company line..

(my bro in law is manager at the golf club in nuri, who has very close dealings with the manager at the vine. the reason given to us is true to an extent, but certainly not in the region that was originally given to us)

the vine inn will certainly be missed, and i feel honoured to be the venues final season winner

You do realise any wins at a venue that ceases 888PL are no longer valid don't you ?

;)

Mr Norwood, we're hearing rumors that you might have a new Monday night game for us? Any updates on that?
