the main people i am sick of are the ones who have the nuts and still wont bet, just call u all the way down
example, was playing last night and someone flopped the absolute nuts (flush) and just called the minimum bets all the way down, like c'mon and this was a player i have seen throughout the seasons of NPL so he would have an idea of how to play the game
p.s. i was not in the hand, i wouldnt min bet through all streets

Re: Calling stations
That's like the opposite of what I'd call a calling station
And I'd probably do exactly the same.

That's not the exclusive domain of a calling station ...making that same call is also indicative of a very good player who has sniffed out your bluff.
what if its an old lady who counts if she has a straight using her fingers, is she a very good player to sniff out this bluff or is she simply playing two-card poker (OMG I GOT A POCKET PAIR)

thats just one example of that player on that night, he was calling every marginal hand even if he hit something, dont think he bet once on the night

Re: Calling stations
I'm in BB, blinds 50/100. There was a min raise preflop from UTG, and 2 callers before me, no 1 and LP. I have Q7, and call for pot odds.
I flop two pair. I check, hoping UTG will bet, then I can raise. Instead, he checks, and so does everyone else. Crap!
The turn (A) brings a flush draw to the table (2 diamonds). I bet 3xBB. UTG, no1 and LP call.
The river brings a 2 of diamonds. I go all in (about 700). UTG, no 1, AND LP call.
"Ok boys, who's got the flush?"
UTG: AJ, top pair, J kicker.
No1: A9, top pair, 9 kicker.
LP: Pocket 2s, which hit a set on the river.
Steve: The LP player that I mentioned is exactly the same. If he has the nuts he will call down everything, he'll never raise.

Re: Calling stations
Steve, were you able to get a read on him?
If no, frustrating isn't it?
If yes, tell me your secret
Whilst I wouldn't recommend either method.. all-in every hand or just flat calling everything can in theory at least be considered valid strategies.
Both of them make me want to hurt people, but that's just how some people play.
As for flopping the nuts, your biggest decision is how to get the most you possibly can out of your opponents.. it might very often be the case that flat calling is your only option.

Re: Calling stations
If I am in the hand with a calling station, I will raise big pre-flop and then check down to the river, and if I believe I have the nuts I will bet at it (edit: on the river) or if I just want to see their cards that they called my raise with I will just check.
Depends on the players I am playing and the reads that I can get.

thats not a bad idea shannon - if you think they are on a draw, u just gotta hope they dont hit it, because they are calling with it regardless, so its not a case of not letting them see any more cards
