Very true. It just means the 10 points for showing up become even more crucial.

As for a venue prize for finishing first, I always thought that was up to the pub. The first season I won a poker table, I assumed was put up by the pub. We surely don't want npl spreading the prize pool too thin. Save the money for the finals, I say. The pubs offering prizes will no doubt get more patrons.
