I walked in the door only to find most of the Parafield Gardens and Para Hills punters there along with Dakota as the TD. It was like old home week catching up with them all. Stamping is pretty fair with a snitzel 3 stamps, any Spirit mix 3 stamps and 2 stamps for a beer and I think softies are 1 stamp.
To my surprise they had round tables ROUND TABLES and when Dakota told us to take our seats, Guess what??????? Most of them wanted to sit in between the cup holders Grrrrrrrr
Anyway our table accepted the challenge that it was easier to agree with me rather than NOT.
There was really only two highlights to the night and it was in the very first
First hand I'm BB and get 99 with 5 callers including SB around to me and I raise another $200, 3 callers to make 4 runners. Flop comes K9X making trips for me with 1 high card and a rag. I put Allen on having KX in the SB and he checks, I check #1 player raises $200 #2 calls, SB calls I call.
Turn pairs the board giving me a full house and Allen bets out $100 I reraise another $200 as I didn't want to scare him off and still hoping he had a king in his hand.
Other players fold and Allen calls. River card X Allen checks then looks at me and says "don't you dare Bobby I have good cards". I thought what if he was slow playing me and had KK in his hand?
Naaaahhh he would have pushed earlier so nobody limped in and caught a straght or something better. I still had both cards and so did he so we weren't gonna be out in the first hand so said "ALLIN AL". He wasn't happy but he did call and he was less happier when I showed him my full house.
Last hand I'm dealer and the blinds were $200 ~ $400 I'm sitting there with around $4.5k and A5 UG calls 3rd calls I call SB calls & BB checks to the flop. Flop comes AX3 they all check around to me and I bet $1,000. SB folds BB calls (Michelle) others fold, heads up with Michelle.
Turn comes a 4 card and I needed to push her out cos she'll just keep calling with anything hoping to hit on the river so I went ALLIN and she called. I turn my A5 looking at a posible straight draw and she has AJ off. River card no good to either of us but her Jack kicker held up.
It was good to catch up with some old friends and a good night of poker I'll possibly be there again next week.
