As the title suggests, are there any Motorsport fans on the forum?
What do you follow, F1's, V8's or anything with an engine that goes fast.
This year I have big March set up with the Clipsal 500 and the Melbourne Grand Prix running back to back weekends. Unfortunately this will mean that I not likely to be going to the 888PL GF as the funds will take a severe punishing during this time of year.

Re: Any Motorsport Fans?
Speak for yourself benny the cunt. I consider myself a MASSIVE F1 fan
I follow most open wheel catergories. F3, GP3, GP2, F2, F1, Star Mazda, Indy Lights, Indy Car, Formula Renault. MotoGP is pretty awesome too.
V8s, Nascar etc. just don't do it for me.
Main driver changes in F1 are for the smaller teams only so far.
Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull, Renault, Mercedes, Lotus line-ups all the exactly the same.
Williams has dropped Hulkenberg for GP2 series winner and fat wallet Pastor Maldonado while retaining Barrichello for his 100th season in F1.
Sauber retained Kobayashi while giving the 2nd seat to 21-year old Mexican Sergio Perez, whose sponsor is the world richest man, Carlos Slim, and his company Telmex (think Mexican Telstra).
Virgin keeps Timo Glock and hires Renault junior driver Belgian Jérôme d'Ambrosio.
HRT hires Indian Narain Karthikeyan, 6 years after he last raced in F1. No 2nd driver yet, but Karun Chandhok and Bruno Senna will not return.
Force India and Toro Rosso haven't selected any drivers at all yet. Australian Daniel Ricciardo will be Toro Rosso's third driver every weekend and will participate in the first FP or every weekend, basically unheard of with the current regulations. He will combine this with another season of Formula Renault 3.5L which he finished 2nd in last year.
Other funny thing - The ORIGINAL Lotus company has bought a significant stake in Renault and the team will now be called Lotus Renault. There has been lots of fighting between the 2 teams as the the Lotus name used by the Malaysian team was purchased from an individual who owned naming rights, not the company themselves.
Lotus (Malaysia) annouced they would change their livery to match the Black and Gold JPS cars of the 80's that Senna made famous and Boom! New Lotus Renault is announced and then a car is preview containing their livery for this season.

There is also legal issues of the "Team Lotus" moniker that could end up in court.
Group Lotus CEO Danny Bahar hopes to avoid Lotus court case

Re: Any Motorsport Fans?
If you like your V8's, I have a tipping competition setup at the AAC.
http://www.australianautosportcommunity ... 081#p19107
Please register your interest here to participate in the AAC 2011 V8 Supercar Tipping Competition.
The rules will be simple.
Just tip your top three drivers/cars for each and every round of the V8 Supercar Season.
The combine round points of those three drivers will determine your finishing position.
You will be awarded Championship Points based on the V8 Supercar points structure and your finishing position.
Points will be tallied through the year until a Tipping Champion has been determined.
Competition will open from February 1st and remain open to new players until the start of the Symmons Plains on November 11th.
New players who wish to join any time during the year will receive equal to the lowest total points.
To be fair to new players, any current registered players who fail to post tips after three consecutive rounds will be disqualified from the competition.

You would now love the new Speed channel on Foxtel as well as Eurosport for the above categories.
I am not so much into the lower categories but as far as F3 is concerned, the Macau Grand Prix is a very interesting race. For anyone who is curious, the Macau GP is run on a street circuit that is 6.120 Km and has a mixture of extremelly fast sections as well as tight twisty narrow sections.
The Macau GP features the World Touring Car Championship, Formula 3 and the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. A Motorcycle race you ask?? Oh yes a motorcycle race on a street circuit with walls and no run off!!!
Watch the nutters below

On another note thanks to OneHD last year, we got to experience the excitment of the Lemans 24 hour race. Most people could not stand watching an endurance event like this, but I was definietley intriqued by it. Looking forward to this years coverage for sure.
