Re: LIGHTNING BOLT IN THE 200M
USAIN Bolt smashed the 200m world record when he completed the Olympic sprint double in Beijing's Bird's Nest stadium early today.
His time of 19.30 was two hundredths of a second inside the old record of 19.32sec set by Michael Johnson in 1996.

Yeah, but Johnson set the world record for someone running the 200m looking like Eddie Murphy.

Re: LIGHTNING BOLT IN THE 200M
I've seen this question posed a couple of times today - who is "king" of this Olympics? Bolt, or Phelps?
Phelps's WR's don't count for a much as Bolt's - Phelps has had some technical assistance after all (I'm assuming he uses a LZR?), but 8v2 is still a valid comparison.....
Thoughts anyone?

the swim suit is the same as the rubber on the running track and the spikes. undoubtedly an advantage, but if everyone has it, then it doesn't matter. swimming pool design is also a big factor in making a "fast" pool - i.e lane ropes and the sides of the pool that minimise wake etc.
8v2 is a pretty hard comparison to make, because bolt doesn't have the opportunity to compete in 8 events.
i reckon one of them is better by 0.01 seconds.
