This is another reason why i simply can't stand american sport. How can a series contested by only american teams be called the world series.

Its the 'centre of the world' arrogant attitude that just sh1ts me.

correct me if i'm wrong, cos it might just be an urban myth, but wasn't the baseball finals series originally sponsered by the paper, the news of the world. And hence the world series related to the sponsor and not the actual world.

But i agree with your sentiments. Americans suck.

NBA also said 'World Champions'.

Just because it's pretty much true isn't the point.

Tampa loses a close one.

Tying it up top of the 8th, then nailing Werth at second base in the bottome half, to set up an awesome 9th inning.

Bottom 9th, wild throw from the pitcher allows Bruntlett to get to 2nd, the wayward throw from the catcher sails into the outfield, Lets bruntlett get to 3rd.

Victorino next up to bat, not a player you want to be pitching to with no outs and runner on third. So intentional Walk.

Phillies pinch hit Burrell replacing him with Dobbs. Runners at 1st and 3rd, With 0 out. Would be a hard decision to make, especially with Ruiz the catcher coming up to bat next, followed by the pitcher. Ruiz though is hitting .491 in the postseason.

The Rays gamble it all. Walk Dobbs to face Ruiz.

Ruiz goes deep into the count. Then hits a weak ball down the third base line. Bruntlett runs his little hole off, and scores.

Phillies takes the win 5-4 as we head into game 4 Tomorrow.
Think i am in Perth in a bar watching this. :-). Hopefully if Fox shows it.

Phillies leading 2-1 with 2 more games at home before going back to Tropicana. Some interesting pitching match ups to come. But which team can bounce back best from the pressure is the important question.

MLB.com also has a pretty nice feed, where you can see what the cameremen are seeing, No commentary, good crowd vibe, but no other info about Balls or strikes. It kept on stuttering when i had Gameday up. But all in all. Was pretty neat.

oh ok, thats what it is, because when i watch baseball, EVERY game seems like it goes for 55 hours.

"yes look how awesome this batter is, he has hit it 3.3 times out of ten in the post season". WOW, thats awesome!!

54 outs and possibly 5-15 runs per game. Not exactly my idea of entertainment.

And before people bring up that im a soccer fan too and they only score 4 goals a game, at least the game flows for 90 minutes.
