final quarter Crows get to 8pts , then the Collingwood cattle..{ read Paul Medhurst and the new 4 gamer Irish Guy ??} kick away ...game over bye bye crows...

good game....Crows supporters knew that their team were realistically playing above themselves.. so they stayed away and may as well watch it on the Telly

Oh Brucie the footy critic ....

listen to what you are saying bruce - you have completely contradicted yourself

first you say that Neil Craig is a bad coach - then you say that the players weren't there to crumb in the second half.

now the latter is completely true - but by saying niel craig was a bad coach implies he instructed his players not to crumb - which is obviously silly.

in my opinion, the reason collingwood won the game in the second half is that they executed their skills better in the second half - craig can't really do much if the players' skills are crap

anyway, UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGS

not sure if i completely agree with that last point benny the cunt

craig is the head coach and all, i would of thought he is VERY responsible for his playing groups skill set and the standard that those skills are at
if his players skills are crap (in general over the whole team) then that is a direct reflection on the coach and his training of that squad,
anybody that says different has never coached sport.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Ok, the crow's season is over.

Do we really need to keep on discussing why they lost to a better team?

Who cares if it was the coach or players' lack of skills. They were always destined to lose.

For the numerous (deluded) South Australian's who decided to make a bet with me on that game and the Crows making it past the second round of finals; I thank you for building my bankroll slightly larger.

Cheers.

LOL no way were collingwood losing that match!

It's very clear the crows were punching above their weight in recent games and they did well to get as far as they did.

P.S. I hate collingwood as much as the next non-collingwood supporter.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Were they destined to lose, because the AFL has a vendetta against the interstate clubs? How can they be classed as 'interstate' when it's a National competition.

Until the AFL removes some of the Melbourne-based clubs, it'll never truly be national.

And Garth, I agree those fans were delusional. I wouldn't have bet for the Crows (but I wouldn't have bet against either). It was too close to call, in my mind.

I agree with that. I think finishing 5th was flattering for Adelaide, they were lucky to even make the 8 considering most of the teams they beat were bottom 8 teams. Same for Sydney despite their finals win.

And the hate people have for collingwood only makes us cheer louder :D

That argument is a load of bollocks.

Geelong played Melbourne, Port, Eagles & Freo twice (the bottom 4!). 13 of their 21 wins came against bottom 8 sides. Are you saying their position was inflated??

Further on this, here are the stats for all Top 8 sides.

Geelong = 13 wins against Bottom 8/8 against Top 8
Hawks = 11 b8 / 6 t8
Dogs = 8 b8 / 7 t8 (draw t8)
Stains = 9 b8 / 4 t8
Crows = 10 b8 / 3 t8
Swans = 11 b8 / 1 t8 (draw t8)
Roos = 7 b8 / 5 t8 (draw t8)
Pies = 6 b8 / 6 t8

Games against Top 8 sides.
Cats = 9 (89% win ratio)
Hawks = 10 (60%)
Dogs = 11 (68%)
Stains = 10 (40%)
Crows = 9 (33%)
Swans = 11 (14%)
Roos = 11 (50%)
Pies = 11 (55%)

Games against Bottom 8 sides
Cats = 13 (100%)
Hawks = 12 (92%)
Dogs = 11 (73%)
Stains = 11 (82%)
Crows = 13 (77%)
Swans = 11 (100%)
Roos = 11 (64%)
Pies = 11 (55%)

So really, it's the Swans that got Top 8 based on beating teams below them (1.5 wins from 11 games)

They don't START as bottom 8 sides - they get there because most teams beat them!

What a silly statement.

North Melbourne pushed Geelong, beat Hawthorn, and beat the Bulldogs, yet went out in the first round.
