It was so funny seeing the footage from the Demon's 150 year celebration dinner ...
All the Melbourne Brownlow medalists lined up for a photo, and Woewodin had this "I really don't belong here" look on his face

About 2 years ago, we took a "Woewoeful" sign to a Crow/Pies game at AAMI. We sat on the outer wing, and hung it over the fence.
Apparently commentators we saying "that's a bit harsh" about it.

Re: Buddy Reported
I'm firmly in the 'the umps can't do their job properly as it is' boat. I also wonder how many fullbacks or even CHB's have won, or even been realisticly in contention to win, a Brownlow ?
I tend to agree that 3-2-1 is also very restrictive when there's so many players on the field and even more so with the rapid rate of interchange nowadays. 5-4-3-2-1 sounds good to me. If a player has been reported they could just put an asterisk next to his name and write down a 6th player who might get bumped up should a suspension occur. It isn't like basketball where reported = auto suspended.
I've been hearing a fair bit of 'they're not being consistent' with respect to penalties imposed for supposedly similar offences.... wasn't that the very reason why they brought in the system they have now?
Anything that involves 'intent' will *always* be a grey area though because they simply cannot claim to know what the player was thinking... only the player can. Even if the player 'clearly' meant to deck his opponent, he could have meant to hit him harder!
On that, is the deliberate out of bounds rule referring to deliberately putting the ball out of play or is it referring to failing to try and keep it in play ?
Gotta love Aussie Rules, soooo many grey areas.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

that is one of the reasons why the game is soo good. aussie rules as a game is built on unpredictability - the umpires will always be horrible, thats just the way it is.
but its the best game in the world!
well, for those that can't agree on that, i will say that it is definitely the most athletic game in the world - there is no denying that
