I'll have to pay that one :)

Not sure how you could call that a checkside Steve, he fresh aired the ball :)

The ball did all the hard work in hitting the post.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Found this on super footy
Could someone please tell me how the AFL are going to work the bye into the fixture? After 17 rounds everyone will have had a bye. Then 5 teams have to go around again. If teams are awarded points for bye, 5 teams will get 8 points without kicking a ball. No points awarded, 5 teams automatically miss out on 8 points to others 4.Love to know how this is going to be worked out.
I hadn't really put much more thought into it than "Oh, there will be an odd number of teams, i guess there will be a bye - i wish there were only 12 teams."

Going to be interesting to see how they resolve this one.

With regards to points - ie, 22 rounds, 19 teams, will see 5 teams get 2 byes, 14 teams get 1 bye over the course of the season.

i refuse to believe the AFL will give points for a bye. Unless it benefits the vic teams.

I believe all teams will have 2 byes, some rounds will have 3 teams not playing (6 i think).

I'm completely knackered, so my math might be a little off here (more likely the logic, but you know what I mean), wouldn't that end up with less overall games? In essence, it would reduce the comp to 20 weeks.

That doesn't sound like something AFL house would be keen on, what with their TV rights and all. When does that get renegotiated?
