hopefully Robbie has a good game, he's been terrible the last few weeks

Re: Adelaide United in the Asian Champions League
Amen to that Steve, he's had a shocking couple of games - clearly tired though.
benny the cunt you are equating how much they earn with how good they are.... doesn't work like that! Rivaldo by himself gets paid (refuse to say earns) more than Adelaides entire salary cap and he was rather crap in both games.
We don't need 4 clear goals (although that'd be nice). We need 3-0 to force extra time and then it's all about us cos I can't see them lasting long in this heat and if goes to penalties then it's anyones game.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: Adelaide United in the Asian Champions League
pete, are you drugs?
OF course they are paid more money because they are better - why would you pay someone squllions if they were crap?
there are some exceptions to that rule - reputation is sometimes worth a lot - but people earn reputation through performances.
just because he doesn't perform for those particular games against adelaide, that doesn't mean he isn't a good player. he was world player of the year for god sake - so you saying he is crap just defies belief. crap in the games against adelaide? - yes. crap in general - of course not
also, i am taking the fact that you haven't replied to my other post about the EPL as an acknowledgement that i was right and you were wrong about that. apology accepted

Re: Adelaide United in the Asian Champions League
Now who's on drugs?
As i told you Sunday, I haven't read it, and I'm not about to.
I said Rivaldo was crap in both games against us. Show me where I said he's always been crap and then tell me how you came to that conclusion.
You mentioned those 3 players and the difference in money involved as though that meant they were that amount better than us all of the time no matter what. If that's indeed what you meant - you are crazy.
I'm not suggesting they're crap either, because they're clearly not. All I'm saying is there are things in our favour which indicate we do have a chance and it's up to us to take it. If we don't then that's our fault for sucking so much in the 1st leg.
I forgot to mention earlier that their main defensive stopper seems to be out injured.
From Fox Sports....
"Adelaide received a welcome bonus ahead of the return leg when Gamba's lightning-quick defender stopper Sota Nakazawa was sidelined on Saturday with a back injury.
He is expected to arrive with Gamba at Adelaide Airport on Monday but he won't play in the final."

Adelaide 1
GO 2
Book it.
Sucks this game isn't friday. I'd have a bet or 4.

pete, thats obviously not what i meant
what i was trying to highlight the fact that the j-league really is a level above what the a-league is at at the moment.

Re: Adelaide United in the Asian Champions League
That I certainly will agree with.
But Gamba aren't invincible and they've had 3 goals put past them in 2 different games either side of the 1st leg against Adelaide.
It's definitely going to be hard work, but it's do-able.
Was just reading that Gambas coach thinks they'll be fine in the heat... as long as it cools down by 7:30.
Does that sounds like bulldust to you guys as well?

Re: Adelaide United in the Asian Champions League
That match was such a massive joke
Everything we should have been doing we just plain didn't even try and do until it was far far far too late.
So cranky.
