I think the A.F.L has to look @ the bench & maybe make it 4+ a sub. this would have to be the worst round I can remember for BAD injuries. 3 teams have lost players in the 1st 5 minutes.

Wasn't there a massive run of "bad" injuries at the start of last season too?

Not to mentions doctors sending seriously injured players back on the ground. Poor shuey, when Lewis crunched his shoulder ... I felt it in Victoria. Luke ball also, half concussed blokes being sent back on - 2 subs is best for players well being and for a fair game.
Nicnat can feel hard done by (sort of) by that tackle. Aaron, did you notice your players exaggerating for free kicks? Or am I just a lot more one eyed than I think? I know buddy Carrys on a bit, and a lot of teams do it, but I have never seen anything like what I saw on sat night.

No, I thought it was fine. I did notice a few high tackles while watching the game. After the Bounce touched on the ducking comments, they showed footage of about 10 high free kicks we were awarded. The entire panel agreed, as did I, that they were all there, not at any point (at least in the ones shown) did a WCE player duck into the tackle/player. Hams and Selwood can't help it if they're short.

Been hearing a bit about Hawthorn just having terribly sloppy tackle skills, but haven't seen enough on that to comment.

it seems a lot of people are pushing for a 3 interchange + 2 subs, but i just think thats getting a bit too complicated. the 3+1 i think is ok, and it was just an extraordinarily bad day for injuries, which will happen from time to time

the aim was to slow the game down in the late stages and make it more free flowing, and it has certainly achieved that aim. im still not a fan though tbh

i dont mind dennis commetti's idea of only havaing interchange after a goal has been kicked. that would limit interchanges, make it less confusing for new people to the game who see an endless revolving door at the interchange gates, and would stop potential injury situations like brodie martin the other week.

the only issue would be in extremely low scoring games where only a few goals are kicked, but maybe they could have a timer where after say 5 minutes, a team can call an interchange when they are awarded a free kick to them or something.

interesting idea though, though i dont really like messing with the game that much.
