Bob, there's no point in changing the spelling of the perceived offensive word, if you quote the entire sentence wrong. What you wrote, is not what he said.
After a clip was aired of Tasmanian MP Paula Wriedt commenting on a major sponsorship deal backing a new Tasmanian AFL team, the controversial Newman quipped: "We couldn't get her on, could we?"
The remark sparked a raucous reaction from the audience and panel, before Newman continued: "Worthy of coming on, her."
Whether you agree or disagree as to Sam's actual intent, don't skew what was actually said.

Now I've seen what was actually said, she should stop being oversensitive.
That's nowhere near as bad as what you made it out to be Bob, in fact, it's not even close to being the same thing.
P.S. Yes NRL is a sh*t organisation for a sh*t sport. NRL footy show is still 10x better than the AFL one.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Heard the clip this morning and Scott was correct with the words that Sam said, but the way he emphasised the words- there was no pause, or comma, between "coming on.." AND "..her".

When you hear someone say something like "he's a clown, but", do you stop and ask "but what?"

Re: Sam Newmans done it again!!!!!!!!
Wow, the footy shows ratings haven't been crash hot this year and low and behold, little old Sam says something silly and all of a sudden there are threads on poker forums talking about the incident. I reckon there will be a lot more people turning ON the footy show next week rather than turning it off.
Its a publicity stunt people!!

There are three comments made by Sam not one not two but three.
Scotty. If you watch it again he does say what you said which was, "Gary, we couldn't get her over could we"? And the audience laughed.
Now, as Garry was still replying to Sams first queerie you will hear Sam say "she can come over".
Now you need to listen for Sams one liner straight after that as the camera swings back to Craig and Sam saying to him ".... be worthy of cumming on her".
James responded straight away and said "Sam you cannot say that" then Sammy realised he was in deap and tried to reword it.
Don't get me wrong Scotty I'm far from being a prude and I occasionally have a slip up now and then myself.
Most people like yourself may have heard the first quip and missed the second one. But, the audience didn't, James didn't, Craig didn't, and my family didn't.

Personally... I don't mind Newman at all. He's a right royal laugh and he just has a bad habit of saying EXACTLY what he's thinking. Just doesn't seem to have a censorship filter and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I watched and listened to it and... honestly... I laughed. Maybe it's my sense of humour, but I didn't mind it at all. And I just shaked my head at the huff that has been caused because of it.
Granted, it was 'crude' as far as public opinion is concerned but it was a comment that I would have wet my pants with had I heard it from anyone else at any other place. Get over it people. The world is a crude place, learn to live with it.

I have the same sense of humour as yourself Ondie. I just thought I'd post it to get a response.
I found it funny how people came to his defence but didn't actually hear his second one liner. And there were others who took offense of what he said.
Sam will be Sam and I too must try and curb some of my one liners or might be in the pickle too.
