Dollar on it's way to parity.

Postby trishan » Thu Oct 14, 2010 2:24 pm

I reckon by midnight tonight it will reach parity. Going into a short term downswing at the moment.

I retract my midnight prediction. It got to 99.993 at one stage but there is a bit of negativity right now. While I am optimistic it might get there sometime tomorrow, it could be some time before we get parity.

The best case scenario is it reaches parity between 4am and 6 am tomorrow morning.

We talking rate or buy and sell pricing?

When buy hits 1.00 thats when i am getting some US coinage going.
Won't be til mid next month though. First 9 days of November.

I think it will be a lot sooner than that Brett. I predicted 6pm yesterday and at about 7pm it got to 99.94. Since the sellers have taken a bit of control but there's a speech by Ben Bernanke tonight that could see it reach parity today.

This is great, unless like me you went overseas last year & bought USD when the rate was low. Now I have money left over & have lost out big time with the current high exchange rate.
I should have just put it all on red in Vegas! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :x

Yeh they still use the actual exchange rate but charge you a commission. It's at .9895 at the moment.

Bugger! It's a good time to:
* Travel overseas
* Buy stuff on the net from overseas
* Deposit into your poker account
* Start an import company

I love the fact that the AUD could become the world's reserve currency. I can just see Mexican drug dealers walking around with rolls of $100AUD bills lol
