I know a few people off here were interested in going, i will be there
With only four weeks to go until the Future Music Festival lands in Adelaide, anticipation is building and Future Entertainment have announced that due to unprecedented ticket sales this years event will take place on an extended site providing festival goers with twice the space and more entertainment than they've ever experienced before.
The new site will encompass not only Rundle Park but also Rymill Park and includes the closure of Rundle Road to bring both parks together, offering an abundance of leafy green shade and plenty of room for patrons to enjoy the multiple stages and roaming entertainment on offer. Also announced today are the local DJs supporting the stellar International headliners N*E*R*D, Basement Jaxx, CSS and Paul Oakenfold across multiple stages, detailed below...
FUTURE MUSIC MAIN STAGE
The Future Music Main Stage is set to exceed expectations in 2009 offering a diverse line up of world-class talent with headline acts N*E*R*D, Basement Jaxx, Paul Oakenfold & CSS alongside local legends Brendon
Moyle and Karl Griffin(??) all on an impressive 15m Fusion stage.
GARDEN OF UNEARTHLY DELIGHTS
Monday 9th March the Future Music Festival takes over Adelaide's very own festival playground; the Garden of Unearthly Delights; and includes all of its carnival sideshow madness into the festival. A wonderland of sumptuous performance venues presenting the most wondrous shows this Fringe, gorgeous outdoor bars and cafes, carnival rides and fabulous free outdoor entertainment. The Garden has something to tantalise every tastebud! The Garden's superb and unusual venues make this precinct unlike any other.
The Gardens is where Cheek and Freak meet Chic. Pick your pleasure, choose your poison, take a trip and delve into the eclectic carnival that is The Garden of Unearthly Delights.
SILENT DISCO
Returning for 2009, the Silent Disco; a festival favourite at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds is tipped to be a big hit with party revelers. Interactivity is a key feature of the Silent Disco, bored with one song? Thensimply switch channels on your wireless headphones and you can listen to something else. Two DJ's play simultaneously, offering a hilarious mix of uncoordinated dancing and tone-deaf singing. To puzzled onlookers it's an odd sight, a tent full of people wearing wireless headphones, half of whom are grooving
to the Beastie Boys ‘You Gotta Fight for your right to party', while the other half are head banging to the sounds of Nirvana's ‘Set Spirit'. If you missed out last year you'd be well advised to step into the Silent Disco, you'll find yourself sporting a pair of wireless headphones and dancing like a maniac. Expect one channel of mash up hits from the Dutch duo and on the other channel Adelaide's favourite DJ's.
