Looks like Cairns and Townsville missed the worst of it. Fingers crossed for good reports in the morning.

Cairns is pretty much fine from what I've heard.

My mum's place has no damage at all. Just leaves everywhere. They ended up sleeping through it.

The last minute dive that saved Cairns

Looks like it's down to a Cat 2 as it moves inland.

Sounds like the high tide came a little early and the storm arrived a little late - both were predicted for 10pm but I think landfall was around 12 in the end.

Not so good in Tully/Cardwell, but would have been so much worse in Cairns or Townsville had it hit either of them.
