ozweather lite - gives you the BOM forecast (paid version gives you radar maps and stuff)
iceTV - pretty decent tv guide for your phone

uses the accelerometer in the phone - you place it under the sheet.

there is a "test" mode where you find a good place for it. If I'm over the far side of my bed, it can only just detect my movement, but if I place the phone in the middle (ish), it does a fairly good job of detecting when I'm moving.

I'm guessing they've made an assumption that being restless is "light sleep" and being motionless is "deep sleep". It sounds fairly valid, and I def felt more awake coming out of sleep the first time I used it.
