Well here i am getting ready for work monday morning after the big day.

I must say I am still a bit shattered, we only got home at 12.30 this morning due to playing Paradise gardens on the way home.

I just want to add to the praise already given to the organisers of yesterdays event, it was an excellent day, extreemly well organised and very very bloody enjoyable.

Everyone has heard my winge about the stanadard of poker at my home venue, but yesterday was by far the best standard of poker I have had the pleasure of being involved in (except my drunken mistake of folding my big blind).

It was great to meet you all and put faces (however ugly) too names, as well as get a sense to the poker ability of some of you.

I am very much looking foward to this event next year if it happens, to put it simply i already cant wait.

Thanks again to scott and the boys for a great day.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Well, the freeroll is done!

Congratulations to the final table people, well done to Todd182 for coming third and scoring a chip set (after coming back from the death), well done to Steve G for coming second, scoring $100, and very well done to Laura H for winning and taking down the $200 first prize!

I hope everyone had a great time. It was my first real "event" to organise/host/whatever so I was learning as I went. I would do some things differently next time but that's the fun of it.

Many thanks to Scott, for assisting with both the planning (over the last few months) and with the organising on the day. Scott also donated the second prize and organised the trophy. Many thanks mate, you were awesome.

Thank you to Nathan for being there from the start of the event (a few months ago) and assisting with organising the venue (which the QA provided for FREE) and general liaising with people for me. That, and being there for the entire day was very much appreciated. To Dakota and Vinnie, and Glynn who came later, many thanks. The day felt so different because of your efforts, and having dealers for the entire day was definitely a a luxury we don't get often at all.

Well done to those who traveled. Apologies for not having the venue closer to you but I was restricted with what I could get for free! Thank you all for making the effort to drive down and spend the day with us. It made for some great conversation, and great poker.

I thought the poker itself overall was great as well - maybe it's with everyone knowing everyone (in some way or another) - or that no one wanted to look silly, but the day was filled with good bets, good calls, good folds and a couple of suckouts!

So, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves - it was only a small field, but it was just the right number of people to make the day enjoyable. Hopefully we can do something like this again in the future!

Cheers,

David

P.S. Photos will be up soon.

Congrats and many thanks to David and Scott for a great event, thanks to Nathan, Dakota, Glynn and Vinnie for dealing for us and congrats to those who placed, particularly Laura who seems to have overcome her fear of winning! lol.

Saw some great poker played all day, and the blind/chip structure worked a treat - even if I didn't really get to play long enough to take full advantage of it.

I had pretty high anticipation of this event, and it truly exceeded them.

Best poker event I've encountered. Great fun from start to finish. Great work Murrins & Sandweiner.

Even if I did donate in the end. ;)

i thought the structure of the tournament was excellent - blinds were nice and relaxed. i dare say that the event went a bit longer than expected, maybe in future tourneys ante's could be introduced earlier.

other than that, i had great fun, and the standard of poker was probably the highest out of any NPLish tourney i have played in, including state finals.

well done dave and scott,

Thank you SO much to David and Scott for organising yesterday! Thanks also to Nathan, Dakota, Vinnie and Glyn for donating their time and also thanks to the Queen's Arms for providing the venue.

I enjoyed every second of the event. The standard of play was great and challenging and of course it's always fun to play with friends and meet some new ones. After coming to the final table short stacked, I certainly wasn't expecting to win! I should also thank a few key people for helping me improve my game over the last year...but their egos are big enough already! :-) Thanks guys!

I can only second everyone's sentiments, it was an excellent day. Well done to Dave and Scott for organising the day, and a special thanks to Nathan, Dakota and Vinnie (and Glynn) for giving their time to deal all day.

For me, it was more about the social side than the poker (that's my excuse for being first 5 out and I'm sticking to it). The structure was really good, I had no issue with it. If this was held every week I'd go :D
