And with folding you can do a wipe, then fold in half again and do another wipe to get some extra mileage out of those 6 or 7 squares if need be (i.e. if in a public toilet without backup rolls). There is just no comparison between folding and scrunching really

I'm a scruncher, and I prefer the flap to be away from the wall.

Re: The Poll to end all Polls.
I tried folding this morning, and it wasn't as bad as i had expected. It would be interesting to know whether scruching or folding is more cost efficient, cos i mean there is probably heaps of people who don't really care which way they wipe their arse.
I used to be a folder, and now im trying to remember the point in time that i changed and the reasons for it, but i honestly can't remember.
Anyway, folding is getting a one week trial and ill report back at the end of the week with my observations and my thoughts on scrunch/fold cost efficiency.
(This thread is getting utterly ridiculous, but i like it

Looks like scrunchers are winning the poll though, interesting.

Finally a topic where its appropriate to talk sh it and talk cr ap.
I agree with the roll having the flap on the outside, it makes sense doesn't it? It's easier to grab.
I had an ex-girlfriend that used to put it in the other way and it drove me nuts, she just couldn't seem to see how it made a difference.
Geez that last statement sounded a bit suss
Scrunchers 4-eva

Flap against wall is the ONLY WAY to have it .... It looks more cleaner
and its easier to roll... so you save on money cuz it doesn't roll itself off like crazy.....
Its THE more firm way to do it.. PERfect for the folders.

According to the poll so far xtal it looks as if you are the only one who agrees with you!

Re: The Poll to end all Polls.
Great topic and I guess we will definately get two types of views on this subject so I should be okay.
Most scruchers today were shown how to use the paper by their mothers who usually scrunch for obvious reasons, not to say that all women are scrunchers.
However, in my early days toilet paper was only used by some of the richer people or hotels. The middle to lower incomes earners made use of the daily paper where it was cut into 15cm x 15cm squares.
As kids we would stack them in layers and thread a piece of string through a corner and then tie a knot in the string so it could be hung on a hook or nail in the outside dunny. Hence scrunching was never really a choice in my early years.
The same applied to toilets that never had a water flushing systems.
Most outside dunnies had a bin and we used the ashes from the fire places throughout the house and lime to cover your business after the paper work was completed.
The bins were collected via an opening at the back of the outside dunny by sanitry workers once or twice a week depending on your location i.e. city or country.
And yes, I like the paper facing out.
