If we're thinking logically, and in a real situation, we are obviously taking the book.

- Can be used for burning.
- Would provide more entertainment than the rest (invention of new endings etc),
- Would give you something to kill the hours through the day (reading).
- Keep you at a somewhat sane, cohesive level. Would get you thinking about things to do on the island (hmm, in the book looks for food in bushes, maybe I should do that...)

Using the DVD as a signal is retarded, its not the size of the Bat Signal.

have you even seen a signal mirror before?

it is pretty much the size of a dvd, and it has a hole in the middle.

you use it to basically catch the eye of a passing plane or boat. reflections off anything but water are relatively unnatural, so it can catch the attention of a passing plane/boat.

definitely the most practical

It wouldn't matter which of those items I had with me - when combined with things I found on the island, I could easily fashion a boat and make my escape.
