Cancelled Vanuatu Event

Was sorry to hear that you guys had to cancel your planned Vanuatu event - I am sure 888pl were excited at the thought of heading to the sun for some poker and drinks at the swim up bar.

I was never personally considering the trip (unable to holiday this year due to business commitments  ) but what did strike me as prohibative was that it was an International trip for 4 days. Quite a bit of travel etc for only 4 days.

It also seemed like alot of money (but I will admit that I did not pay too much attention as it was not in my capabilities as stated above.)

I think you could still realise your concept if you just tweaked it alittle bit to make it attractive to a wider audience.

Have it in Australia - Will make it accessable for those without passports, cheap airfares avalible (or driving for those who prefer it)

Have the 'event' as 7 days of poker (with similar events held every day) so people may make the trip for even a couple of days, or 5 of the 7 days etc...

Have it in a sunny location - Gold Coast always goes well for most Aussies. Murray river could be a good option too. Do they still have those big steamboats? Imagine a 'Maverick' type of event on one of those chugging down the Murray River on a 35 degree day? Nice.

Plenty of notice - 3-4 months ahead, people need to plan.

Timing - School holidays preffered. I don't have kids, but I bet having it during the holidays will open it up to alot more people who do.

You guys have plenty of stuff to organise, but you obviously would like to get something social, going in the sun.

Try again I say, just make it a bit more accessable.

Love Always

Glenn

Not really, just suggesting if they want to plan a more well partonised 'social' (non-championship) event/getaway then it should be a bit more 'accessable' - timing/location/cost etc.

Also it should be alot of little games rather than 1 big one.

i think the timing was the hardest bit - it was only a couple of months notice.

maybe planning it a full year ahead would be better - full promotion and satellites for a whole year would be great, you could just about get the whole party to satellite in if you give it enough notice.

being flexible on the return date as well would be good, so people can stay on a bit longer if they want (at their own expense of course)

Wasn't our choice guys. We tried to do as much as we could in the short time frame.

Secondly 888PL ops group had very little to do with the planning of the trip and was more of a high level operation.

ok, fair enough - i really think this was the reason though, whether you had anything to do with it or not.
