I was just wondering if someone could tell me who owns NPL? Is it a private concern? Is it owned by a huge hotel chain? Or is it just a small group of keen poker players involved trying to promote the game? Just curious!!

Nevvawon,
Why do you ask this? I am curious as to what prompts a forum user to ask this question.
NPL was started by a couple of guys in Sydney who owned an online poker supplies store. They notice a great increase in there sales and realised the need for a poker tournament and prize pool that was aimed squarely at the beginning player who wanted to experience the poker boom.
Hence NPL was born. A couple of years ago Sportspick Pty Ltd a Melbourne based company, bought the licensing rights for NPL for every state except NSW and Qld. Now we are here.
Sydney remains the true owners of NPL, likeness and brand, and we use the NPL branding and structure to set up our comps in other states.
Hope that explains enough.
Sportspick is a privately owned company and that is as much as I would like to say on the issue.

Ahh, interesting. It seems that's how most poker branches start - dedicated poker fans want to bring the game to the people.

So wish I wasn't so lazy.

Could have loved to have got a picture of the soprano's and stuck some faces of the staff on there with the quote, 'I guess not...'

Ahhh... to not be lazy.
