Qualification for future Grand Finals

Question regarding the 10 away game minimum....

Here's what's on the 888Pl website:

"In order to qualify for any of the 888PL Finals Series from 2010 (not the upcoming Semis and Grand Final in Jan/Feb) players MUST play a minimum of 10 Away (in venue) games.

This means even if you win a Grand Final seat in a Re-buy event or satellite you cannot take part in that final until you meet this criteria. The seat would be held over until the next finals series when you have met the criteria.

Also players will not appear on the Dream Team scoreboard until they have met this minimum qualification."

So, does that mean 10 away games in total between GF's?

OR

Does it mean 10 away games per season (in between GF's)?

I'm asking now so there's no confusion later, particularly if you do actually mean per season.

I recently emailed Garth about the GF and his response was:

10 away games must be played in a season for you to qualify to purchase or play in the Grand Final.

:)

Imagine I win a GF ticket in Week 15 of the first season between GF's, having played only 2 away games...

Can I then play 10 away in the 2nd season between and still make it?

i think 10 games each and every season is a reasonable request to make

If it's an acceptable request or not is not what I was asking, that's a different conversation - by all means have that particular conversation in another thread or something.

If it is supposed to mean 10 away games per season, I'd like to know why it doesn't actually say that to start with.

I just do not understand how these things are proving so difficult to communicate properly the first time. Especially something so simple!

<facepalm>

The grand final is for one season, and the qualification is from that season - that's the way I take it.

The "Grand Final" is no longer a seasonal event tho - 1 for every 2 seasons isn't it?

i get what you are saying pete, but use some common sense. 99.999% it will be per season

benny the cunt, I know very well what they are wanting to achieve, and common sense directed me to that thought. I can also easily see why they would want to do so, and have no real issue with that at all.

What has been announced though is NOT saying that at all, it's very much saying something entirely different.

It actually says you must have played 10 games, and makes no mention of any timeframe whatsoever! So based on that, make sure you've got 10 games against your name and you'll be fine! Now I'm sure you'd agree only an utter fool would take it that particular way, but I'm also sure we've both met some utter fools at the tables :)

It's as though you're suggesting that "it doesn't matter what's actually in the announcement, just work it out for yourself" (or words to that effect) to which I couldn't possibly disagree more, as that defeats the very purpose of even making an announcement to start with!

I wouldn't mind some actual clarification from someone in the know, if it's not too much trouble.
