OK dumbarse question coming up here!!!
I've never played a live rebuy as yet so I need some clarification. I thought it was best to look like a goose on here instead of at the table
When and how can I rebuy and or addon when I'm at the table?
What is a double rebuy?

Re: Rebuy/double Rebuys ----Addons/double Addons
Normally you can buy extra chips (a rebuy) any time you are at or below your starting stack. Some events allow a double rebuy which means you can spend twice the buy in for twice the stack.
Add-ons are something that are done at the break after the rebuy period finishes. An add-on is basically purchasing an amount of chips (usually the amount of the starting stack) to add-on to your stack whatever its size. A double add-on is simply double this amount, for double the price. After an add-on period, a tournament will revert to a normal freezout format.

Thanks Macca.
So, say you get busted can you rebuy like online you just click on rebuy so on a live table from who and how do you get extra chipsso your not eliminated?
And is there a time limit or an amount as to how many times you can rebuy?
editted; I'm looking at playing the rebuy pre grand final

Re: Rebuy/double Rebuys ----Addons/double Addons
Some tournaments have a limit as to how many times you can rebuy, but the one your interested in does not. i.e. you can buy in as many times as you like within the alloted timeframe, which will be up untill the first break (maybe an hour or an hour and a half, but this will be announced). If you get stacked, just put your hand up, hand your cash to the friendly TC and he/she will give you more chips. Simple as that. Any other questions?

Your a gem Macca thanks for your input.
Do you have any suggestions or do I just play it like online but with a bit more finness? LOL
Did you win a rebuy at the semis?
What's your view on rebuys?
I have the $250 which was allocated to buy a seat so I may as well have a go but I don't want to waste it.

Re: Rebuy/double Rebuys ----Addons/double Addons
You will notice that the play early in rebuy tourneys is very loose as most players want to build a large stack early. I would recommend that you go into a rebuy prepared to buy in a few times, and to get a doubel add-on in the break. But you should look for opportunities early in the tourney to play multi-way pots and put your whole stack in with nut flush or straight draws. if you miss, no big deal, you can rebuy again, but if you make a hand and take down a monster you can build a stack big enough to go deep in the tournament. Remember the average stack in these tourneys will climb quickly, so you will find that people will play almost recklessly early in the tournament.
Bet you big hands aggressively, they are almost certain to get paid off.

Re: Rebuy/double Rebuys ----Addons/double Addons
Yes I've seen that happening in the AK home games. Trisham for one made 12 rebuys on my table well before the break and a couple of others were 20 plus. Fortunately they are only $1 rebuys hopefully the $10 one with curb some LOL. I did say hopefully.
I make it a point now to watch the lobby to see who are more aggressive in the early stages and then continue to the final table in most cases. Others just don't know when to stop even when they are very big stacked.
Thanks again for your help Macca. I'll try and put it to good use. If not I'll have a crack at the Aussie Millions on the Sunday.

Re: Rebuy/double Rebuys ----Addons/double Addons
for a $10 rebuy, the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM you should be taking is $10 for the buyin, at least 1 rebuy, and a double addon. that is $40.
you should be looking to easily spend in the 50-100 range maximum, but you should definitely set an upper limit.
i won my ticket in one of the rebuys and spent 60 bucks.
early on, you want to gamble as much as you can to try and build a stack. so things like flush and straight draws, you really wanna try and get your chips in to gamble, because you can always rebuy.
this also means your top pair type hands go up in value, because people are looking to get it in lighter with draws and second pair etc.
having said that, dont go crazy

Thanks again for the input boys.
Obviously, I'll really need to change my game and take more chances than I would normally do.
