most tourneys i play are with the same people and we have an awesome time, and there is no collusion

if you see collusion you should tell the TD immediately as there are options to stop it

if u see people cheating in this fashion.. call over the TD over and get their ass banned.

Why do we have to go to primary school methods to sit down at a table at a free poker nite.. if there are people cheating.. just get rid of them.. NPL doesnt need that sort of person anyway.

The table and seating system was done at the finals and the Casino w/e.
I think its a fantastic idea and should be used at all venues during the season as well
I believe there is a programme available that when you register you are allocated a table and seat

I dont think collusion and cheating is a major concern as yet, not like other leagues.

The downside is that players wont be able to sit with friends at the start.
The upside is that players would play against different players on a regular basis hence learning how other players play and improving poker skills

Funny, a mate and I were discussing this the other night, and how the present situation could be open to abuse by evil-doers.

I'm kinda with Dave on this one, for and against ... For, if it stops any collusion that might be taking place, but against because the biggest attraction (for me) in the pub poker is to sit down with regulars met in the previous dozen weeks and have a chat and a laugh with them.

I did have a long reply that I had written up and then my computer crashed! Nice.
So here is the short version.
We love to run professional tournaments and we are proud of the fact that we run tournaments that are as close a model to a casino re buy tournament as possible.
In saying that our TD's are entertainers first and directors second. Our job is to provide a fun,social and entertaining atmosphere. A factor in creating this atmosphere is the fact that mates can start the game at the same table with mates, and beginners or novice players can join other novice players or feel comfortable sitting with people they know.
I am sorry to burst anyone's bubble part the seating allocation will never be apart of the regular nightly tournaments, it will continue to be used at all larger tournaments such as finals and satellites.
In saying all of the above I am not that naive to state that their are no cases of chip dumping or collusion going on, I do believe there are small minor isolated cases of this going on. If you do believe that any such mis deeds are going on I strongly suggest having a quiet word to the TD ASAP. There is no point bringing it up after the tournament has concluded as there is not much a TD can do after the case. And believe me when we I say that we are discipline all players who are caught colluding with a lifetime ban.
Our TD's are in venues to guide players and direct the tournament they are also there to educate players, enforce rules and provide a safe and fair poker tournament. Not all TD's can be everywhere at once and notice all the action at all tables, that is why it is also a player's responsibility to ensure that the tournament is running fairly. If you ever believe cheating of any sort is going on then stand up and ask to speak to one of the staff quietly somewhere and inform them of your suspicions.
My personal opinion is that if you are aware of any cheating going on and allow it to continue then doesn't that make you just as bad if not an accessory to that cheating.

I with people just reporting collusion, if it happens continuously then those bad-doers either get banned, or sat down after everyone else as directed by the TD.

The majority of us do the right thing.
