Garth or anyone else in the know,
It now says that only 10 events are needed to qualify for the B&G regional leaderboard instead of 15. is this correct? is this for the upcoming season or retrospective for last season as well?
if so, i think the TD's should heavily promote this, as there would be a lot of players that don't check the site regularly and don't think they will be eligible for the regional final.
PS - im not sure if i like the idea of only playing 10 games, i would have thought this would deter people from playing a second venue - i myself only played another venue so i could make regionals (im gonna play 2 venues this season)

Re: 10 Events for Regional Leaderboard?
Heya benny the cunt,
It's 10 games by average so just playing 10 games wont secure you an instant berth at the Regionals. It will be your best 10 games.
No, that will not apply to season 2. Season 2 qualifiers has already been set.
Don't kid yourself.....it will be a tough ask for a lot of people to qualify. As it stood with needing 15 games to qualify for season 2 we still managed to get 133 players to qualify for the upcoming Regional Final.
Good luck peoples!!

fair enough darren
as you say, its probably not going to make much of a difference anyway, as the average from the top 10 games will be taken still, so you would have to have a fairly decent average out of those 10 to qualify.
i wonder what aaron thinks about this change, he would have won clearly if it was top 10 games instead of top 15!!!
lol just gonna make u chase points harder this season aaron

You're right about that benny the cunt. Season 3 leaderboard will be more about firsts, seconds and thirds then just plain consistency.
He may not be the most consistent but Aaron is definitely one of the better finishers in the BG region. It should pan out to be a very interesting season.
I wonder if praise will affect his game? It certainly did for Dilly in season one
I'm gonna put it out there.....my moneys on JD for season 3.

Re: 10 Events for Regional Leaderboard?
i reckon AK might break through and win the region this season
JD has the "man i am crap and i am behind, so i will bet" look, and it works a treat for him as he is actually a good player.
most people have worked out dilly willy, including myself, but im not gonna share that with everyone
it affected my game as well. in the very first NPL season i averaged nearly 30 but only around 20 since
not that i was big headed or anything, but i think everyone as come up to the level that i was at in season 1, and i haevnt improved as much as everyone else
now for my game - looking forward to the new season and making a few more final tables

Hmm, 10 games is different. And wow, 133 players is EXCELLENT. And just imagine, Darren was crying last week because we weren't looking at getting enough runners

Really? Goddamit. NPL SCREWING ME OVER AGAIN!!
But seriously, 10 games, instead of 15? I don't know how I feel just yet. I've always been accustomed to having to place 15 times, while 10 is definitely easier - this'll affect my game plan. Darren is right, this will have more of an emphasis on the 1st, 2nd's and 3rd's - and only having to make points 10 times should make the top 5 a much closer race, and encourage players to play more often. Interesting.

Thanks Darren
JD, huh? Not a bad choice. Personally, I'm picking Russel to finally break the shackles of two continuous 3rd placings and land 1st.
And benny the cunt to finish in the top 5. Yep, you heard it here first.

that is my new-season resolution
i know i sound like a broken record here, but i really did try to get people off middle pair when i had nothing, and it didn't work.
in the last half of the season, i made a conscious effort to not do this, and whaddaya know, i placed in 7 out of my last 10 games with 3 final tables and 2 10ths. pity it was too late for my state finals aspirations, but this WILL be the season

not gonna happen AK, i will only play 2 venues regularly. top 20 would be good though
