Hi Guys,
I am working a few things out in terms of prize pools and some toher new things we have going on.
I do have a question for you though, what would you prefer.
$10,000 cash or $7,000 cash with a SkyCity Main Event seat valued at $3,500.
Where does the best balance lye?
I would also like to add that the main event for Adelaide this year will be a four day event with two day 1 flights and there will be some big announcements coming up in regards to this event shortly.
What do you want?

Re: What do you want?
sounds good either way garth
i suppose if you give someone the cash, then they can make the choice about whether they want to use it to buy in to the sky city - i dare say most people would just take the cash.
maybe have the state final winner as 7K, and have a separate qualifier for the sky city seat as has been done in the past?
but in direct response to your question, probably 10K would be better
edit: changed state final to sky city, coz thats what i meant

Just to clarify, this is for state finals, yes? You never directly implied what event we have to win to receive this, but I'm assuming state finals.
Personally, I would prefer the $7,000 cash and the SkyCity seat. 7k is still a lot of money, and the difference between that and 10k is minimal, considering in its place we receive an entry to a massive poker event, worth 3.5k. 7k is enough cash - plus you get the chance at more with the SkyCity seat.
That's how I see it, anyway.

Re: What do you want?
Does it matter which event this is the prize for? Maybe not necessarily State Finals. I am after people's impressions on which one is the ideal prize.
And what people would like to see as a prize at big events.
Thanks for the input so far, but need more.

Re: What do you want?
Ten grand would go a long way, but if I was to win an event like this (and the number of runners involved), then I'd feel confident to do well in a SkyCity event, so I'd want the seat & $7K.
I'd be too lazy to use some of the $10K to buy my own seat.
But having a cash & seat prize, you are giving the winner the best of both worlds.
Can I have the $7K now please?

No, it doesn't matter (as long as we its accessible to all players in the state
Looks like the 7k cash and SkyCity seat is the one to go for so far.

I agree with this one. To actually pay $3500 for a seat is a bit daunting but to win it is different, even if the prize money is less because of that.

Re: What do you want?
I'd opt for the 10k. More flexibility that way - it may well be daunting to pony up 3.5k for a seat, but at least it is an option. Perhaps the NPL could assist with connecting the winner with Adelaide Skycity if they are interested.
When you've won the seat, and you aren't up for it (for whatever reason), its far more daunting to have to try and sell it
That said, I'm rather interested in what the 4 day event might be. And I'd really like to see it run outside uni study periods
Work and study leaves little time for play, but study breaks are for poker!!!!!
edit: it doesn't appear to be registering my vote either.

That's because your opinion doesn't count.

Re: What do you want?
more money = more options.
Could afford to have a go at a few of the satellite tourneys and still try and win your way cheaply into the Main Event, thus keeping more of the prize money for yourself.
Got a mortgage? Can't tell me you don't want 10k off that quicksmart.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
