I don't care what you think!!!!

Just kidding - all valid points. But my forethoughts on people for this council are based on previous experiences with these players and their ideas and thoughts, as well as their ability to communicate well. Some of these players don't post on this forum just players I have met whilst travelling around venues and discussing NPL with them.

Other people care sniff sniff

I guess it is good that you want your players to feel as if they own a bit of NPL but there could be that downside in that as well.

If I lived life wondering about the downsides of any action or thought it would be a pretty boring and uneventful life.

There are possible downsides to every action or decision, fact of life. But in the majority of circumstances the positives far outweigh the possible negative impacts or variables.

One other thing that i dont like about this is,

What happens as a TD we have a disruptive player or a semi abusive player and I decide its time to go for this player , then over in the distance is a voice of one of the Representative council trying to override a decision or because he doesn't agree and believes that we are wrong on our decision , what would happen there???

This guy that im trying to sort out could be his friend and im stuck looking like and idiot to the "unnofficial official"

I can see where this is going and YES its a good idea but i would hate to have a player try and overrule me on the fact he can think he is my boss because Technically he will make a decision in a tribunal Situation !!!

Maybe each Region also has to a Senior member (TD or RM) from that Region to oversee any situation just incase something like this happens,

I know a lot of my players from my region and we have a big region, there are players that are Genuinely loud and players know it but what if these guys decided to move around venues and do like a secret shop and they dont like a player and decide they will use their power to get rid of them or create an issue with TD's and NPL , just all little reasons i think we should keep it on the forum.

Once again just my views from the TD side of things !!!!

i cant see how the above percived problem can be possible

Council members should have no power as individuals. Only as a a member of the governing body, so in this instance you would report the problem player to the councill then as a group they would gather all the information ( including the council members testimony as they were present) and make a ruling.

To think we could have players running around ruling the NPL and overinding the Tds is a joke and would not happen, Garth and Co would not let it as it would make a mockery of the point of the councill.

Also i dont think the elected members of the councill would be that sort of person, It had already been said that the ideal candidates would be well rounded individuals, this sort of hypothosis suggests idiots in the council.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Very true Crunchie, as it shouldn't, couldn't and wouldn't, be the responsability of any singular council member to even think of getting involved in that sort of situation. Any issues that arises at a venue should be handled by NPL's TD or TA as they are the controlling body.

The way I see a Players Reps duties are only to be seen as a group of players approved by NPL management to assist NPL management and selected TD's in discussing new ideas and or problems arising from NPL's current or future format "from a players pERspective".

Obviously, if you were a council member then you would be obliged to table any feedback you may hear or receive from other players. Assuming the seriousness is minimal you would forward the information onto the TD or Tim Harry or leave it to be heard at one of the combined meetings throughout the year.

OK,
The reason i mentioned this was a previous experience during a Basketball game i was involved in,
I had an incident where i was involved at a basketball match and on that day we happened to play a team where one of the guys mate played on the opposite team , anyway not that it matters what happened but a few of us were kicked out and reported , mind you we kicked up a bit of a arguement to which the Tribunal guy came and stepped in and told us to leave and explained who he was .

Then i had the Tribunal guy come outside and give us a speal how what we did was wrong (even though we were provocted) and he basically told us there and then what our punishment was.

I then had to goto the Tribunal and cause he witnessed it he knew everything so i had no chance, even though the umpire was there and also said we were provocted it didn't matter we got a huge punishment but the guys who provocted the fight basically got off....
I can understand that this a total different situation but if im off controlling an incident i'm almost positive the REP person will try and step in cause of the power

All i am saying without getting my head bit off that i think that power would still go to head of any REP COUNCIL , I understand that Garth will explain and sternly warn about it but i think it will happen somewhere thats all,

Besides the Fact anyway, I still think this Forum is a great key and if a council is formed it should be done by a group of individuals not necesarilly form each area but im sure the forum could create an area for a REP COUNCIL and everything be done by that

i think having live forums in different areas to try and catch people that aren't on this forum is a great idea
