I'd say the main issue emerging though, is the points/leaderboard issue. Which, to me, isn't really an issue.

Only 403 votes to go, and it's happening.
Somehow, I can't see this as likely.

Come on guys, Just let them play. I don't see any major issues with them being able to play! Plenty of safeguards to address major concerns.

Re: 888PL TC's to return to play in regular competition
Hi All,
I thought I would chime in here with a couple of thoughts to give you an idea of the decision making process we are undertaking.
Bit of background first. After attending the 888PL GF in SA and having an absolute ball, seeing the atmosphere created as contractors, management and players interacted it prompted me to speak to Garth about reversing the decision not to allow contractors to play in regular events. I was so thrilled by the positive energy it generated, I felt we needed to reconsider this aspect.
There have been many exceptional points raised as a result of this thread and I thank you all for the insight you have shown. It's great to be able to way up this decision with all the available positives and negatives as we cannot always think of them all ourselves.
In the end the decision we make will certainly be in the 'best interests' of the league. Ultimately we will make this decision, like any other, by weighing up the pros and cons of the argument. Whilst I think they are several worthwhile points to consider I believe we have only one major decision to make.
Does the benefit of having 888pl staff (contractors and management) play, outweigh any potential negative that might arise?
In my view, it does (otherwise I probably wouldn't have raised it
).
Let's pre qualify this by saying, 888pl staff will only be allowed to play free in venue events and potentially a 'special' once per day, pre designated, online Challenge event. I have thought long and hard about the integrity of the competition as it's always in the forefront of managements mind. It's my belief that by having a separate leader board for 888pl staff we can overcome the majority of this issue. We all use the same roads to get where we need to go even though our destination is different.
Yes, the player seeking points, prizes and seriously intent on winning (about 8-10% of our league, if that) will have an additional obstacle in their way. However, if you are that person, why not take on the challenge to improve your game so that the addition of the 888pl staff member is merely another conquest for you to overcome? I know you are as competitive as I am, so you will want to win no matter what and are prepared to do whatever it takes.
The question then: is this the only thing preventing the re-introduction of 888pl staff into our events? What about the other 90% of people whose 888pl events are enhanced by the presence of the staff?
I think there will be much laughter, energy, atmosphere, competition and fun to be gained by so many people by having 888pl staff re-introduced that it outweighs any negative. Sahara1 mentioned is it worth the risk? The smiles on the faces those who attended the 888PL Grand Final tell me it is.
Now of course, this is only my opinion and as always we will take on board all the arguments, for and against, in order to make our decision. And I am happy to be out voted.

This. There's risk in every facet of life. Personally I don't think that the risk here is that great that it can't happen.
