wouldn't this make it more important to provide clear and concise information?!?!?!?!?!?!

sorry garth, but providing deliberately vague information is just horrible in my opinion.

why not say something like "the player can play in a gf so long as they are a regular 888pl away game player"

as soon as you start quoting numbers, you really need to specify everything.

Thanks for the update Garth.

I'm still not sure you realise that what was actually announced was very clearly saying players only had to have played 10 away games in the history of ever, and was very much contradicting what it was you were trying to achieve.

That is one of the reasons why I brought it up, I know damn well you'd love to see players in venues more often and on a regular basis.

Some would have assumed 10 games per season (like benny the cunt did)
Some would have assumed 10 between GF's
Some would quite literally have said "geez I've played waaayyy more than 10, I'm sweeeet"

If at least 10 away games per season is what you'd like, just go ahead and say it! It's up to them and nobody else if they actually play them or not.

It's not as though they shouldn't be showing up every week already to do well on a venue scoreboard!

The lowest common denominator suggests "just say what you fricken mean, and give up on the guessing games!" :P People have wives and girlfriends for those sorts of discussions :)

If it turns out that heaps of ppl can't make it to 10 games a season, then clearly you'll need to re-evaluate the market and adjust the requirements. But I'd say the evidence suggests that they certainly can make that number of games, and do - based on your previous comment about the most recent GF.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

To read the link and assume "10 live games ever with the 888PL qualifies me for everything" is just plain retarded. Ask for clarification; yes. But the aforementioned assumption is ridiculous.

Sure, you can assume whatever the hell you want. Some bloke assumed spraying Lynx on himself would net him a chick. Are you as smart as him? It sounds like it, if you assumed playing 10 live games in a year qualifies you for freakin' everything.

:D

Once again, I'm confused, please read why.

A group of us were only talking about how many games some of us have played this season and how many we needed to qualify for the next GF. We all agreed it was ten (10) AWAY games to qualify for the GF per season.

As I had only played 5 at the White Horse someone suggested I play a couple of other venues to ensure I get my 10 games up. Their reasoning was because this current season has been reduced from 15 to 12 weeks.

Confusion #1.
I don't know if the first season for 2010 is for 12 or 15 weeks now!!

Confusion #2.
Now, after reading some of the posts (Rcon was the first one I believe) on here I'm confused not only as to when the next GF will be held and where as some of you are refering to the next GF being 2 seasons away is that correct??

Confusion #3.
I also heard something about the SoO being won by a Victorian and therefore the next GF will be there in the year 2011?????

If so then why did Garth tell me the next GF will be in Melbourne on either one of the last 2 weekends in August or first weekend in September 2010?

Have I and so many others missed something that was said at the last GF or the SoO regarding the next GF???

And please be polite with your replies!!

I'm not on my own when I say I am so friggin confused!

Confused with the new site, the weeks in a season being changed, variations to points multipliers for Challenge and Foundation games Away and Home etc. Not to mention trying to keep up with the Forum chat as it seems to be the only true comunication site available at the moment.

I realise from what Garth is saying about the new site is still having a heap of problems. And I guess they didn't have the opportunity to continue using the NPL site until they got the current one running properly?

Season are basically 3 months each Bob.
January - March Season 1
April - June Season 2
July - September Season 3
October - December Season 4

Next GF is being held in Melbourne some time in August/September. End of Season 3. So yes, it's two seasons away.

Victoria won the SoO. They will host the first GF of 2011. That means they will host 2 in a row including the one they are hosting in 6 months time.

It seems like you are just confusing yourself by overthinking this Bob. Confusion over the new site and points multipliers have little to do with the GF. Just relax, and take a deep breath. 8-)

I knew you were my hero for a reason. So if not lynx, what should I be using?

Garth,

I can see both sides to yours & Pete's discussion. We as players don't really know what the agenda's are that the 888pl have behind the announcements you release. Nor, can you guys truly know how all of your playing members will interperet the info you release.

I think the easiest way is to put as much and as detailed accurate information out there the first time, so that if you get guys coming to you saying "But we didn't know that, where did you say that?", you can say, "Have a look at the announcement posted at the start of the season".

I think you will gain more from this approach than you will lose with the "if we say 10, the laymens will only play 10" approach.....

As far as I am concerned, 10 away games per season SHOULD be a criteria for playing in the premier event in the league. You are either a participant in the league (and by this it means turning up consistently and participating in venue), or not. And if you are not, what right do you have of participating in the Main Event????
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

Personally, I think this topic has gone way out of hand.....

Yes, I agree that comments regarding any qualification for finals should be clear and set out in stone.

Honestly though, is it really that hard to manage 10 games a season? Considering that seasons are now 12 weeks, that's not even one game per week. Why would you need to worry if you have aready played 10 games a season?

I say....

If you are worried or confused that you wont make the GF.......JUST PLAY 10 games to be sure.....not that hard people.
