I myself like the idea mainly because i've had to use it in a few of the venues I play at.

Since i dont drink much beer because of my motobike ill normally buy 3-4 soft drinks / juices behind the bar and take them home if I Don't finish them.

Now I know that alcoholic drinks cannot be taken out of the venue, but that's just what i do when it comes to soft drinks.

3-4 cokes in an hr and your bound to go all in on 8 3 off suit >.> (cough)

Actually most pubs can sell take-aways. They just have to be unopened and in a bag. I have done this a couple of times when I haven't felt like drinking them all.

The venue shouldn't mind because you would have paid over the bar price already which is higher than take-away price because there is no "corkage". I would just ask some-one at your venue.

luegge = large?

I think if a venue doesn't use this system they're just losing business. Great to see that the Old Spot is listening.

(Now get back to your old stamp policy! :D)
