Please excuse me for my ignorance as I'm sure it's been explained in one of the Garth posts regarding the points system and a "Dream Team Event" but I can't recall reading it.
So, am I to assume that the points made from playing in one or all of the 888PL games such as Freerolls, CBI's and Online games can be or are tallied into one???
From what benny the cunt is saying is that he's been doing well at his chosen venues and AK has had a big win online. And now, that has put AK in a better position to be place not only in a "Dream Team" but also moves him right up the LDB, yes, no?
I like quite a few others are not up with all the abreviations that you guys use so maybe a thread relating to their meanings would be a good idea.
And finally because not everyone is able to play online all day every day like some can to acheive these higher points etc so can I ask you Garth, is the Berri Big Stack going to have points allocated this year to even the playing field a little?????

Re: Points Awarded in Grand Final Qualifier?
Sigh.
Shrugs!
And answers yes.
All special events, whether live or online will have points attributed to them in someway.
These points will contribute to the applicable scoreboard.
I am yet to decide whether the NPL Champs events should have an impact on this in this particular season, but I see no reason why one off special events cannot contribute to Score Board points.

Re: Points Awarded in Grand Final Qualifier?
bob, the dream team "score board" is a national "score board" whereby everyone's best 15 games are averaged
all online and live games count equally
big events like satellites and championship series seem to count, even though there is no individual leaderboard for them
for the record, aaron would probably still be beating me, but because he took down the grand final qualifier, he earned over 500 points for this, and now sits a long way ahead of me. please dont read this as if i am pissed about it, but its just the way it is.
edit: garth has posted, what he said

Gath: For clarity, you said "scoreboard".
Do you mean ALL types of scoreboard, leaderboard etc or just the Dreamteam scoreboard (noticeably no longer called a leaderboard) ?
You know I'm only asking because someone who cares will surely want to know

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

I decided last night that we will remove Leader Board from the titles of our state wide or national listings.
Instead there will be the AWAY SCOREBOARD = State Leader board in every sense, min 15 games to be completed in venue, average of best 15 scores as ranking device.
HOME SCOREBOARD = Online Leader Board, min 15 games to be completed with the average of best 15 games as ranking device - no prizes awarded for this board at this time.
DREAM TEAM SCORE BOARD = National Board combining all results from online and in venue activity, minimum 5 online games and ten in venue games to qualify and ranked on average of best 15 games (15 games can be a mix of online/in venue or just online and in venue results) - $20K in prizes minimum.
These qualification, rules and prizes can, and will more than likely, be changed at the end of the season.
I am sorry but I am exhausted. Averaging 4 hours of sleep each night and I have been up since 2am. Does this make sense?

LOL ..... Is that yes to what I was saying or yes the Berri Big Stack will have points?

Do we still have an NPL??? And wouldn't Special Events points be a fair way for those who don't use a computer?

I don't see a Home scoreboard listed anywhere? And if there's no prizes being awarded for it (I know you said at this time) why even have one?

I think the reason that you want to include champs event/Berri/special live events is because no away fields are going to be as large as the nightly freerolls. So why even play at the pub? Not a very good mindset for 888pl players (business wise). So I can definitely understand that decision.

Fair enough.

Re: Points Awarded in Grand Final Qualifier?
Garth: Thanks for that. That made sense as far as the "top 50 leaderboard" scenarios go. It's very clear.
The individual leaderboards for venues and online tourneys are still called leaderboards or have they also changed (which would then possibly include them in your previous comment).

Game Leader Boards, previously known as venue leader boards, will still be top 5 for each individual regular event and will be continued to be known as Leader Boards.
