now we're talking....
Would it be safe to assume that a vast majority of players play mostly in the region in which they live? ie if you live northeast then that's who you're playing for ?
A rotating trophy would be great but imagine the fights over who gets to look after it, maybe just have a super awesome picture of one posted on the forum and sum1 can add regional winners names to it over the seasons?
I'd really like to see this kind of event happen.

something like --- each regional venue provides a top five team
regional finals played to decide top venue team to represent your region
regional final repesentive teams play a satellite style event - winners recieve trophy /bragging rights /monies plus entry to State finals ???

No I think something like what we have done for the teams event with people registering on the forum, except that the team members have to be from the same region and there can be as many teams as logistically permitting ...

Re: State Finals System
I think we will wait until this teams event is run before deciding on using phrases such as "as many teams as logistically possible", we will see how this event runs with over 60 teams and 500 people in attendance, before deciding on the format for the next one. Although I am leaning towards a format where we have one regional team of 20 to 40 players (from each region) that would create a max field of 480 and we could run several shootouts throughout the day and finish with the top 3 teams playing a freezeout tourney. Or a seasonal knockout format, week 1 NE vs SW, with winner progressing to round 2, and then in week 2 S vs E and so on etc.... But that would mean one game of this nature every Saturday or Sunday for the whole season until we have the grand final, but it does free up the numbers where we could have a team of 120 from each region shooting it out. Thoughts?

Re: State Finals System
As I see it depends of size/ structure of the Regional team.
then where they are played at regular weekly npl venues or 'regional finals events.
if say 20 players represent the region [ could be 5 x 4 player teams].
or each venue nominates available player/s to represent their region based on a internal play offs of using points leader placings.
obtaining regional representation should encourage all npl players skills development.
or
A regional event for venues for qualification to to a State regional finals event could be held in instead of a round robin events series less events to administer.
Using the feb 3rd 'teams' points routines as proprosed seems a logical progression from the 1st teams event.
