Nightly Qualifiers/Sub Sats for Monthly Qualifier to Finals

Why is it that people who have already qualified for the monthly qualifier, choose to enter satellites into the monthly qualifier. Is there any utility in that? Do they get $40 instead of a seat if they win?

Yes they receive $40 cash if they win a seat.
