I was talking to Grant and Darren last night and asked him NPL were going to make a collection at each venue for the "Bush Fire Victims of Victoria". Grant and Darren both felt because it was cash related it might not be allowed.
Then, I noticed Garth has got a special event up and running in Victoria for the "Victorian Bush Fires" with buyins etc. I assume it's acceptable to have cash games over there at some or all of their venues now.
So, my question is this. Has anyone in NPL's Sth Aussie management thought of arranging a special "Victorian Bush Fire Victims Event" where we can raise some money via donations or something similar to what Garth has got going????
Just a thought guys as we (my family) have already donated a considerable amount of cash.
My wife Donna works at Helping Hand Aged Care on Salisbury Highway Parafield Gardens and they are accepting donations if anyone is interested.

As far as I am aware, I thought it was illegal to host cash games of any sort in South Australia outside of the casino???
Please correct me if I am wrong?

Its a bit iffy to have cash games over here in SA Bob, so I doubt we'd see anything of the like over here in SA.
Maybe their could be a separate booth at the Metro 5FTT game that took donations?

You may have missed where I said donation in my previous post so I just underlined it M8.

I realise that Aaron via my conversation with Grant and Darren. I was merely suggesting a donation going to the "victims" was an entry into a special event. LOL
I know it's going through the back door but as I said it was a query (bugga nearly did queerie again)
Not going to the 5FTT event M8 I only FT twice in the first 5 weeks and I can't usae my Regional FTT LOL.

I know it's going through the back door but as I said it was a query (bugga nearly did queerie again)as to whether NPL management could organise a special event of some sort and we donate X$'s to play and our cash is a donation not an entry fee.

I noticed that mate. But you can't really take donations at regular weekly games. Would be easier to get everyone into the one place at the same time. Aka FTT events.

Hi Bob,
First of all this isn't my incentive rather a group decision from all of us here at FHG, I am definitely not the lead man on this project; I am simply organising a poker tournament and we have 4 other senior managers working almost full time on other aspects of this fund raising event.
Cash games in Vic are not legal rather we can get special permission to run fund raising events under this format.
As to SA doing something similar we just don't have enough hands on deck over there to pull something off of equal magnitude, nor do we have the time or infrastructure over there to establish any sort of event within the next three to four weeks.
If anyone is willing to help, by donating their time, skills, knowledge or prized then I am sure we can get something together, but in the meantime the answer is a very unsatisfactory "No we do not have any plans for a Bushfire Appeal tourney in SA"

No worries Garth just a thought M8, all for a good cause I thought at the time. As I said I'm more than happy to have made a cash donation of some sort as we (Donna and myself) have already done through her work and I find out today through Woolworth too.
Off to Coles tomorrow and do some shopping as they (Coles) are donating all their profits from tomorrows business to the victims. I'm pretty sure Woolies are doing the same so get off your butts tomorrow and do some additional shopping.
