tonight at settlers a player had won bad beat got placed at a table with the two thousand dollars and then went all in and lost all to go to another competition that was held at parafield gardens but as he was leaving he asked the td if his name got drawn out to place another person back into the competition as the other person come second to him and he thoght that would be fair. I know this for a fact as i overheard the conversation as i did not think any more about at the time until the person that had left did however get their name redrawn so grant the td decide he would put the runner up from bad beat back in? I do know that this would have disadvantaged other players from getting back into the tournament ? I did not think that this would be allowed as any player that gets redrawn if in the comp can say considering i am in put Joe blow in instead ? I also asked grant how can he do that and he thought it seemed fair and just ?
There are a lot of players out there chasing points does that mean they can also be done by this system and the rules be bent anytime a td seems fit to twist them?

Re: poker and bad beats
I'd like clarification on the rule, as I had the same situation last night. I DNP'd, needed to point for states. Was waiting around for the 2nd draw, hoping for my name to get called out, when I was told by the TD that if my friends name is called out, they can give up their seat to me. So I instantly started rallying my mates who were out to give their seat to me.
2nd draw came around and one of my mates names was called out. I sat down, and my table was (understandably) less than pleased. But it was soon decided that it wasn't fair, and once I heard that we weren't sure 100% if it was a rule or not, I volunteered to sit out. I wanted to use any tools necessary to make states, but not if it wasn't legit (albeit if it wasn't exactly the fairest entry). I sat out, my chips were returned to the players I took them from (I had just tripled last hand), and it was like I never sat down.
What's the ruling on something like this?

Re: poker and bad beats
Should never have happened, and steps will be taken.
Although Tracey I am a little disappointed I had to find out about this on the forum, I have no issues with this scenario been posted but someone in management should have been notified first so we can rectify this situation.
If these allegations are true I am also a little disappointed in Grant, he normally sticks to the rules we have laid out and never takes any actions that can be deemed as harmful to the integrity of this competition.
Only a player who has his name on the passport can be seated, otherwise it is a redraw again. How are we to know that eventually a player might start pestering all remaining live players into letting them in at the second break. It becomes to confusing and opens the door for many other unethical scenarios.
