Obviously just ran into a player who can't fold paint pre and just can't fold Top pair. But from my end, thoughts?

I have found this play to be useless in 888 tourneys because they never ever ever fold top pair. What it does mean though, is I would frequently overbet shove river with a hand like AJ because they still never fold KJ
