Heads up in an SnG. Opponent was playing tight but opened up in heads up and got caught bluffing a few times. He like to open and 3-bet pre so I just called pre to disguise my hand. I call to the river as he just min bets, I have draws including two overs. River presents a tough spot for the rest of my chips.

Question 2

If he checked to me on the river, would you shove (raising any other amount is silly) or check back?

When you are heads up with a 7:1 chip disadvantage you should Raise here every time - no exception!

If you are re-raised, it's most likely you can get it in - a good result IMO.

If he folds, well you still win a pot with a hand that still needs to hit.

It is likely he has air or something weak, but he should be doing this with his stack and connecting with the board in some way. I call here, his range is too hard to determine due to lack of information. Top, Top good here alot.

Question #2 - I shove here. A min raise here isn't that silly - it may to get a call from a weaker had that may fold to a shove (tho unlikely). If you are reraised, all the better.

With your stack compared to his, AK is as good as aces, I shove pre as a three bet almost commits you anyway..

On the river, not enough info to make a great call, I'd prob still call even though you arn't beating a lot. Wouldn't be in that position to begin with though, money is going in way earlier.

Question #2, no real point in shoving on riv, only get called by 2 pair in my opinion (if I was him, wouldn't double you with less than that at that point).

PRE - OPEN SHOVE with anything less than 15BB heads up and look to double up.

To answer your additional question, I would never be in a position to have the opportunity to bet the river, but with deeper stacks I would check the river. Only better hands call me here.

Why is action missing pre and on the flop from the HH?

If you're going to miss the opportunity to 3b pre and get it in vs his worse Aces/hands, then you have to be prepared to play your hand stronger than c/c each street (this board is eww though).

I can honestly say I have never been in the posted situation.

My moneys getting in pre flop all day every day, whether by 3bet or open shove is opponent dependent.

Thanks guys. I do get my self into holes sometimes. I had been jamming 80% of hands leading up to this preflop and he started folding, a move I though meant that my stack was big enough for him to fold. This is why I decided just to call and see a flop. Played pretty bad.

Perfect, more likely that he will call a shove with any ace than if you have never raised pre...
