I always like to lead on these type of boards. I think it is by far the best option. a check/call looks dodgy and a check/raise isn't likely to get his money in the middle either.

Not sure how often you had c-betted in the past, but on that board (which is not really likely to have hit your hand) a lot of people will shove that c-bet with holdings like 88-QQ or even lighter.

I definately think that the flop is the best time to try and get your money in, and by leading you have the best chance of doing it.

no one ever went broke building a pot, and I can't find a compelling reason to check here - particularly in these 24+2 MTTs early on. You're just never going to build a pot by CRing here.

if you check raise, he will fold TT-JJ, and continue with aces.

if you lead, he continues with random pocket pairs, aces, flush draws, etc etc

this was my thought process during the hand. He never puts me on a King here and shouldn't be folding out most pairs.

Donking out here looks like a smaller pair, to me, anyway.

not sure what his stats were like, but the fact he raised pre, then folded looks like anything from a little pair A9-AQ or perhaps suited connectors.

Also, his reraise from the hijack followed by the fold to flop action from you smells abit like a bigstack steal attempt? (but perhaps a bit small) Even though he wasnt that much of a bigstack (esp relative to you) all players after him are less than 1/2 his stack (less in the blinds)...
Especially if you have been quite aggresive prior, which seems likely given your stack at 25/50 (3rd level?), this could likely be his play?
And his reraise leaves him just over 7K, ie odd reraise amount if he actually has TT+, and doesnt hurt too much if it doesnt work. Would he really reraise with a smaller PP? (unless, again, hoping you fold)
