the PFR by him was pretty standard imo, so thats why i called.

i really liked the board, and i put him on absolute rags, so i get into it. when he called, i put him on a J, or a lower flush draw, so i thought i was good.

the turn gave me an open ender, so i had 15 outs. i also thought my Q was probably good as well and if this was the case, i would have had 18 outs, so i decided to jam it. he called with 2 pair on a straightening flushed board, which was pretty loose by him i thought.

did i play it right, or should i have slowed down a bit? my image was LAG at the time - the table was super passive, so preflop i was raising a lot of pots. i was betting the flop a lot of the time as well, and picking up small pots.

but earlier, i did limp with aces and smash a guy who had 1010, so i dont think i had a donk image.

after he raised me on the turn, i didn't see any point in flat calling there, as more than half my stack would have been in the pot anyway

did i play this right? or should i have flat called and jammed the river?

In this situation (and with very little backgorund on the players at table and your table image) I would check call the flop, not lead at it.
The turn does give me more outs, but I'm still only 30% to win the hand and that's if he doesn't have an A or K of diamonds, which is likely.

I check for pot control on the turn as I am more than likely not going to push him off his hand, I bet here and I either get raised by a much better hand or I get flat called from a draw that could be better than mine.

The river bricks out I can get away from the hand cheaply.

In that situation I fold on the turn more than likely, 5/10 cent is too laggy for anyone to fold anywhere and you really need to make your straight without a diamond falling to feel any safety.

I definitely would fold after the three bet on the turn, that screams super strength to me.


If you had the same draw (up and down and four flushing) on the flop, then sure get all of your chips in if you can, the turn and second firing at the pot by the aggressor is a simple fold as you know he is calling all in and you're drawing light.

my read said that he wasnt on a good flush draw though, because i reckon he would have raised the flop with his draw.

Look at it this way, you do have a monster draw, but at that stage you are only 30% to win the hand.

Do you really want t contribute more chips to the pot when you're only 30% - no, very -EV play.

You re raise, why? You're contributing more chips and you will get called 75% of the time, re raised 10% of the time. Which means you are only picking up that pot about 15% of the time.

The other 85% of the time you are putting more chips into the pot when you are a 2.5 to 1 dog. Again a -EV play.

You hit that river you are going to get paid off most times, but you have to control the pot on the turn. And just check call to see a river.

What Garth said. Check call the the turn, if you miss, lay it down. No need to shove over the top, after his min raise he definitely has a good hand - even A2 beats your Q high here - he's likely to call the shove regardless.

FOLD PREFLOP.

Obviously living up to a LAG image, you have to make certain that when you are gunning for a big pot, give yourself every opportunity to win it. Also make certain you have the dollars behind you if you do take a hit. In this case, if you are trying to build a bank roll. Play ABC poker, it gets you the money.

at 5c 10c, the board has missed you are firing of a continuation bet. He has called it down. This will lead you into the next part when the turn comes out. With the diamonds on the board, might scare people. Checking will also disguise your hand a little, especially now we know what he has.

He might have you firmly on Ad X, with maybe a j, so top pair, and nut flush draw.

You have now let out twice into his two pairs, if he has you on the naked ace, then his reraise is fine. His two pair is still looking fine.

Easiest way would be to keep the pot small, check the turn, he will then check because his hand could be second best to any flush. The other side is he will then start wondering what you are doing, it also gives you the option of the check raise and possibly force him out of the hand when he thinks he is beat.

Extracting the value is a tough one. But it also sets you up for the river if you hit your money card.

IF we had both checkd the turn. a lead out bet here could represent any number of things. If he had you on AJ, he know might be reconsidering that he is beat. If he had you on the flush, he might check away, or call just to see what is going on. You could also be repping QK for the straight. The board would have become scarier for him than anything.

Three questions. What image are you representing, Rock who gets it in good, Or a LAG trying to take as many orphan pots as possible? Being raised did you have him on any hand, Flush, pair, what are the chances of you winning at this point?
Did you consider folding at any point?
