Pocket Jacks.

Blinds are 2k/4k.

7 handed on the FT - 5 limpers. I'm in the SB, with [Jd] [Jh]. Any raise is committing myself, its either all in or fold. I know that all in is getting a call, with the players behind (or rather in front) of me. Example: I pushed all in for 8000 at 500/1000 blinds with [9c] [9s], and after limping, a lady with 12k behind her calls with [As] [2s]. I held, but wtf.

So basically, I KNOW I'm getting a call - I've got A2 lady on the table, and the other limpers aren't much better. Plus I've got BB behind me, who is a very good player, and has chips, so I decide to just call. If the flop is ten high I can push, hoping someone has [As] [tc] and I can take all their chips. If an overcard hits, I can lay it down.

I complete, BB checks.

Flop: [4c] [4s] [6s]. You can probably see where this is going.

I push all in for 15k. Fold from BB, INSTA call from UTG, everyone else folds.

[Ac] [4d].

I felt I made the right move - I'd make it again. But, I did get a bit of slack afterwards for playing it wrong. So, lets get a discussion going. Did I play it right - if so, why not, and what would you have done?

Push pre-flop.

Yeah the flop might come with an overcard, but by pushing you will get A rag (hopefully), KJ below, and QJ down out of the hand.

If you can't push with JJ on the final table, what exactly are you waiting for?

The more I think about it, the more I realise I should've pushed preflop. I just didn't want to get knocked out by A rag, KT, etc - worked all tourny to get a stack and end it like that would've really sucked. I'm probably not racing two overs, everyone limped. And if I am racing A rag, I'm ahead. I want that race 10/10.

Ahh well.

Thankyou krunch :D

It would've made little difference anyway - A4 was calling me. I'd put my life on it. But pushing preflop was the right move, yes.

END OF THREAD.

Just for the record, I'm with everyone else who thinks you should have shoved preflop.

But I'm just loving the running 4s today :D

Last night, 4 handed, blinds 2000/4000 UTG and mid fold, I look down at [Ah 4d] and think, hmmm, superman has folded to preflop to a big raise before, my ace is probably good here.

All-in.

Superman takes forEVER, gets someone who is playing 13 to come over and rub his fricken guts or some such crap. 10 minutes late, he makes the call. We've both got exactly 19k

He rolls over [Kd Ks].

Well I've got one over :(

Pete pipes up, nah, you don't need an over, you're going to get running 4s.

:D :D :D

Flop, [4s 4c] [X] and that was all she wrote.

Serves him right for wasting so much time    Anyway, I took Pete out a hand or two later, and then went on to get my ticket.
