Bad beat with dodgy passports

Just got home from a tournament at an unnamed new Friday 11:00 venue. Got a bad beat as follows ;
We are just after the 1st break so no more poker passports are in play. I hold K8 suited checked all around, flop comes KJ8, I have hit 2 pair, bet 500 to the left raises to 1000, folds around to me, I go all in and left of me calls. Rolls over KQ. Turn comes 2, river comes J. Left of me wins the pot with 2 pair Queen kicker as he had me out chipped. Fair enough but..........
The issue I have is that the gentleman to the left of me got both his passports stamped up after buying 1 drink. From what I understand he knows the bar staff and at least one of the TD's which apparently entitles you to a full stamp up on your cards.
I am not normally one to complain but I had been there for the first game supporting the venue by buying drinks to stamp up my passports and got both my passports stamped up legitimately in the second game only to get sucked out by some bloke that got chipped up for buying one drink.
Surely there should be some responsibility on the pub to ensure everyone gets stamped up correctly. Does anyone else think this is wrong?
