They are relevent - I would like to know the result of my peers experience as it will influence my actions if I am ever faced with similar situation.

And it will be particularly relevent as I play this tourney twice a week I may very well face this play from this player.

As some people have already mentioned, how might our situation change if we have KK (i aint gonna fold this pre), or more difficultly, AK.

Folding AK is fairly easy (for me) - but that is more influenced by the fact that I play AK fairly slow as a rule anyway - particularly 3rd hand in.

QQ vs AK , I take QQ every day of the week (and twice on Sundays)

i think most people would agree with you

but, if someone open shoves first hand, and exposes their cards and they have AK, and you look down at QQ, do you call?

the answer is you shouldn't, because you are giving up a lot of tournament equity for the card equity

At what point in a 30 man tourney does the call become correct?

thats a good question actually

obviously the later in the tournament, the better it is for you.

if, for instance, you have 20k to 10k, second hand of the tourney, i think its ok, because you can affort to flip off part of your stack.

if you are close to the bubble, and at risk, i think it becomes a fold again, unless you are short stacked.

so the extremely hand wavy answer is that you should call as soon as the chip equity becomes more important than the overall tournament equity

Personally, I smell pocket Jacks
Quite simply, Villain doesn't want a caller
If he has Bullets or Cowboys, and the field is already down to you and Villain, he's not gonna try to price you out of it.
Maybe AK, or pocket 10's .....not AQ, or AJ, not 3 hands in to the tourny

For mine, JJ, TT or AK and is hoping you won't go there. A strange push regardless of what he has
Still, whether I'd call or not is another matter...
Stupid game..... Never playing again

This conversation is getting a bit ridiculous.

MACCA - any reads/stats/history with villain.

This three bet size implies ALL POCKET pairs from JJ+. Most 888PL players will not play AK as agro (because it isn't a pair).

Also if it is KK villain will more than likely slow down and not bet any Ace flops. But will open shove all others.

So let's say we do some REAL basic maths (and not consider set over set scenarios - because I dont have much time)

We will hit a set 1 in ten time. We know that villain will stack off on ALL boards. So therefore we are winning approx 10K (1 hand that wins) for every 11,500 (9 calls of 1300 odd that see us lose)

Therefore with even basic maths scrawled out at this rate where I am not even fully focused I can see it's an instant fold (simply based on implied odds)
