firstly, if i wanted to keept he pot small, i.e pot control, i would just check behind, i wouldn't bet.

secondly, pot control is a concept where you have a good but not huge hand, that you want to get to showdown with.
this usually involves checking through if it gets checked to you, or check-calling instead of leading yourself.

either way, its not really applicable here. (i guess you could say i pot controlled by just calling the turn bet)

Origami wrote:you aint got the Nuts so why "benny the cunt jam".

why are you fixated on this "bennyjam" bruce? seriously, every time someone wants to bet into a pot, you call it a bennyjam. its just silly.

Origami wrote:where in the Tourny /game / your plan for the night/table is this hand played...???
a Sacraficial Bet/Hand depending on your Mood on the Night...

this was a cash table, which is obvious because i am talking about $ amounts and not chip amounts.

the history with this villain is that he was relatively straightforward, i.e tight-aggressive.

Origami wrote:ps Beware the Two Pair :geek:

the board is paired, so i already have 2 pair.

bruce, i want you to answer this. what possible hands could he have here on the river?

i think TT calls a shove here a fair amount of the time, especially if the player is aware of my table image, which is pretty aggro.

not saying thats what i did though, ill tell you later

Bet $9.40 ... but i am silly .

Rep the Q ! 8-)

If he had it why the check on the river ?
As you have called the bit over half pot bets to there ?
Surely he would push more in with AA KK or the Q .

How quick were your calls to his bets ?

I am thinkin he has A J heart , definately the Ace with another heart ...

hrmmmnn :?
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

Yeah, I have him on AK, but benny the cunt seems sure he's gonna call...
AK won't call, AJ won't call...its gotta be AA KK TT or 99, unless he's trapping with AQ
Stupid game..... Never playing again

Yep I don't give credit for a q at all

Flop I took a bit of time, turn I called pretty quickly because it doesn't change anything

This is also part of his range, but since he checked, they kinda dont matter anymore because I beat them, and he isn't going to call with AK

I haven't discounted AK but it doesn't matter because I win whether I check or not, because he doesn't call rover very often

I am more worried about whether KK or TT is more likely

Check it back, he has AA/KK more than he has 99/TT here, and he will not be folding those hands.

I think benny the cunt is villian in this hand...and holds kk or AA....and Hero gets it all in after the checked river and benny the cunt's spoiler turns into a brag post...nice trap.

ok, i think there has been enough discussion.

and lol chris, its nothing like that, it is actually a legitimate hand.

in the end, i checked back, and he had [ac] [ks] and i won a nice pot, but immediately it got me thinking about what i should have done, because that is the bottom of his range right there. and what he would do if he held something different

He would have to be a retard of epic preportions if the above statement is true.

AK was his most likely holding by a mile IMO.

I like the shove. I really think you knew this in your gut but took the safe road for reasons only you know (perhaps getting beaten in similar hands previous to this).

The likelihood that he has better holdings then you is slim, but if he has - it will cost you dearly. But isn't this the case with all tough poker decisions ? Isn't this why we get that sick feeling in our gut that we love & hate - the feeling that is tangled up in the beauty of wagering money on incomplete information?

You have most of his likely holdings beat, get as much $$ in as you can.
May all your pain be champagne!
